How To Take A Midi Skirt From Day To Night

HuffPost Social Reading

Getting dressed for day can be as easy as one, two, three, but when you have to quickly go from dressed down to dressed up, the equation gets a little trickier. When it comes to day-to-night dressing, simple additions will help you do the math. You can add a layering piece for the nine-to-five or a pair of killer heels and a clutch for cocktail hour, but whatever the case, it's definitely the little things that count.

Longer hemlines made a major comeback this fall at shows like Prada and Marc Jacobs, and it's looking like they're here to stay. Ditching your mini skirt for one that hits a few inches below the knee has never been a better bet, especially since it's so universally flattering. Dressing in a midi during the day means adding a cute cropped sweater and floral flats for a '50s-inspired, lady-like look; while for the evening, add primary colors and a touch of sharp metallic. Whatever the case may be, sun up or sun down, the midi is a length you definitely want to try out now.
