Louboutin Who? Meet The New Generation Of Shoe Designers (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

Manolo Blahnik and Jimmy Choo became household names back in the late '90s thanks to shoe-crazed heroine Carrie Bradshaw. As seasons passed and Carrie's taste in shoes progressed, we started seeing her kick up her red-soled heels; the legacy of Christian Louboutin was born.

In recent years we've seen a slew of new shoe designers come to the market, and we couldn't be happier. We will always bow down to masters like Blahnik and Louboutin, but it's nice to see some fresh talent hit the scene. Though these guys are every bit as expensive as their predecessors, they're worth the investment. Just like Carrie Bradshaw who returned to her beloved "Choos" in the second installment of "Sex And The City: The Movie," we always have a place in our hearts for those Blahniks that we worked all those extra hours for. Herewith, our roundup of new and noteworthy shoe designers.

Most of these are so hideous that I wouldn't wear them unless you paid me. And these "designers" want us to shell out thousands of dollars for them?

Okay, designers, start designing mens shoes to look weird and hurt THEIR feet, but make it a MUST that they have to wear or risk being ridiculed for not "being in fashion".

Five hundred dollar shoes in this economy? Ridiculous.

I so agree with you. Especially since these shoes are not really everyday shoes - can't imagine you could wear them that often.

im sorry but these shoes just better be made out of gold?!?! i would never waste no more than $50 buks on a pair of shoes!!!! I love shoes, but i would not pay $1000? for some shoes you would prolly wear once or twice and then there placed in back of your closet to be never seen again!! Again it just better be!!!!

I'm just glad that Jeffrey Campbell isn't on this list. People love him, but I think his shoes are truly awful.
