Kate Somerville Dermal Quench Liquid Lift: Botox In A Bottle?
With clients that include Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba and Demi Moore, we've long known of facialist Kate Somerville's miracle-working powers. Though getting a treatment with the woman or one of her specialists can be a daunting task, that's all changed. The LA-based aesthetician has managed to duplicate one of her most popular and effective services, Dermal Quench Oxygen Treatment, into a convenient at-home option.
The original in-office version involves a deeply hydrating process that pumps the skin full of oxygen, vitamins and hyaluronic acid through a hyperbaric pressure delivery system. That last bit is the most important. With a machine that works similar to an airbrush device (Somerville created this in her lab), the treatment uses oxygen to help push anti-aging ingredients deeper down into the skin, thereby becoming wildly more effective. Somerville knew she was onto something with this machine, but struggled find a way to mimic the results with a bottle. Until now. Somerville's Dermal Quench Liquid Lift employs a strange looking tube/hose of sorts that once shaken administers an icy-cool blast of foamy liquid, which you then rub into your forehead, under the eyes, around the mouth and wherever else you're seeing signs of aging. Then seconds later, I was told at a recent event, your skin firms, facial muscles relax and wrinkles become less visible.
Seems gimmicky, and I wasn't sold at first. Then I tried it. The instant firming action is kind of astounding, but so are the long-term effects. I've been using it for about a month and my skin already feels smoother and more even with less visible fine lines and pores. (Dermal Quench works even better when you've applied other serums or moisturizers beforehand; it locks in all the moisture.) While the results could never really rival Somerville's machine, she's created something that seriously works, and in a way that's like nothing I've seen before.
