Ali MacGraw's Chrocheted Cap At The Academy Awards, 1971

HuffPost Social Reading

"A Look Back" is a daily column that highlights a moment from fashion's fabulous past. Today's pick is of Ali MacGraw attending the Academy Awards on April 15, 1971. The American actress looked stylish in her signature crocheted cap and a jeweled choker, but, then again, it was the 1970s. That sort of look was more acceptable. Should we bring it back?

On the 70's I was working at Andrea's Shop in Beverly Hills, Ca and Ali was one of our client.
Robert Evans was buying the crochet hats for her.

Does anyone remember a few months ago, when Jennifer Aniston was declared by someone to the the most beautiful woman ever? Now take a look at Jacqueline Bisset... THAT was beauty! So was Julie Christie in Dr. Zhivago. Someone has a very short memory.

I love you because you know the value of the Scottish Terrier!!! I know you have had one and I feel that they have the best of the human qualities: strenghth, loyalty, and friendship & love. Can you ask more of an companion.

I have had four (3 rescue) Scottish Terreriers and 3 of them have been rescued.

I love ( or have loved ) them all will be their defender FOREVER....JILL POWERS SIMISTER

At the moment I'm watching the 'Winds of War' on Netflix and I can safely say that Ali McGraw is the most wooden actor in the entire production.

Because of this article...I googled Ali to see what she was up to these days, and ended up being drawn into an ever expanding list of articles and videos about:

Ali MacGraw
Steve McQueen
Ryan O'Neal, and then...
Tatum O'Neal
Griffin O'Neal
Farrah Fawcett

Only ended up wasting about 2 hours...THANKS, HP!
