Craigslist Finds: 14 Completely Strange Sales Now (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

As you may have noticed already, we like Craigslist because it's a great resource...and because we get to see all the outrageous things some people try to pawn off as "sales". When we see papier-mâche animal masks that are not only scary but also absolutely useless, we're reminded time and time again that our own eccentricities pale in comparison to certain people's on Craigslist.

And so with that, we bring you the 14 most outrageously weird Craigslist finds for this week, from 'inverted' tool sheds to a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge. Flip through the slideshow to judge these odd items for yourself and let us know what crazy things you've come across in comments below!

Fire-hazard joke was lame. The rest were funny.

I thought it was funny, all of you guys are being douches. You guys have been on the internet too long if you think this stuff isn't weird enough for you. Haha, seriously.

Lame article. The comments educating the writer are much more entertaining.

NO fire hazard, they are METAL much like chain male.. shows this copy writer has no clue about fire places.

(continued....)
- That hose would be awesome for putting in as temporary drip-lines in a garden! (in the market myself, just for narrower hose due to my space constraints) I've also seen people line the tops and bottoms of chain link fence with hoses like that....
- That stray cord may seem strange, but if you've got the item it fits to, and you're a chronic cord-misplacer (like me!) this could be HUGE....especially if it goes to an item that takes a certain cord that needs to be special ordered or something (like some electronics do).

The concept of this article is good, but could probably use a little more oomph, as in...things that are genuinely, "way out there WTH".
Personal opinion of course.

Wow, um....okay. A couple of unusual ones, sure. However, some of these aren't nearly as weird as you obviously think!
- if you own a small chipper/shredder and you garden (or regularly make your own mulch), that pile of newly cut, healthy-looking brush is actually a great find! My city even collects brush like this for free, which they shred and use for mulch, or compost (depending on the material) and use in city landscaping as well as compost for community gardens! Hardly strange!
-Fireplace curtains are usually made of metal and protect from flying sparks in your living room. How is this so unusual?
- Ferns? well clearly you dont garden because there are MANY plants that will survive everything from days to weeks to months out of the soil! Also many more will survive as long as their roots stay damp, which could quite possibly be the case here (sitting damp in a plastic bag even would do the trick!). Most people who garden have traded, bought, sold or shared plants with other gardeners (often times via boards like craigslist) that were presented in a similar fashion. This is most definately NOT unusual or strange.

the fern will be fine -- just keep them somewhere humid until they have a new home, pretty simple.

It's really hard to kill that fern.

Seriously? You've never seen a fireplace curtain? They're made of metal mesh, not fabric. They used to be on fireplaces in the 80's and before, to keep embers from flying out.

I think the people listed it with the word "cushion" instead of curtain

Exactly, they probably upgraded to a new one like my Dad did and are seeing if anyone wants to buy this one before throwing it out. (I swear that one is not my Dad's, lol)
