NFL Homes: Amani Toomer, Muhammed Wilkerson, Visanthe Shiancoe And Brian Westbrook Tour Homes On NBC's 'Open House' (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

Aside from your favorite team taking home football's most coveted title, few things make for the perfect Superbowl Sunday: Good food, spirited fans and a cozy spot to watch the game. NFL players should know. And a few of them are showing us where they'll be touching down for this Sunday's big event.

Four gridiron stars -- former New York Giant Amani Toomer, New York Jets defensive end Muhammed Wilkerson, Minnesota Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, and former Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook -- opened up their homes for NBC's "Open House" real estate show, slated to air on Sunday, February 5, at 8:30am ET.

While Toomer shows off his newly re-designed "man cave" in Weehawken, New Jersey, the "Open House" crew goes house hunting with the Jets' Muhammed Wilkerson and Sotheby Realty's Broker Jay Morrison.

Non-New York digs include the Maryland homes of Minnesota Viking Visanthe Shiancoe and former Philadelphia Eagle Brian Westbrook (whose palatial space also includes a ranch with horses).

NBC offered The Huffington Post a peek at these four footballer homes.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story incorrectly identified "Open House" as a production of LX.TV. It is now referred to as NBC's "Open House."

Olympians in antiquity were treated similarly as these athletes, why do so many people voice outrage over some perceived novelty to the situation? Because our country is in incredible debt? Whether you enjoy it or not is not the issue, the NFL is a huge product of this economy and these players are rewarded proportionally. Many of them are exploited, so let's chill it with the faux rage. What say you, aginglib eralhipp iedoucheb ag?

Taxpayers are stuck with $1B tab for Minnesota Vikings stadium. Somehow the product is not huge enough.

Of course it's ridiculous but the stadiums are always full. It's the whole American culture. Give me a high school game anyday.

We envy and criticize on this blog but try to take a way a season of football or basketball ,and there would be riots in the street,I am not a sports fan (although i did root for the giants because they are a home team) I could never figure out why the excessive salaries ,tie in the fact that no matter what crimes they commit ,starting from junior high to college as long as they are athletes could win their school kudos all is forgotton. This leads to men with huge salaries big toys and the " I can do whatter ever i like 'mentality

Depressing...with all folks who are unemployed due to layoffs and others struggling to make ends meet..these salaries are simply outrageous and unwarrented

Try spending 20 or more years getting hit by 200 lb. plus defense men, and then voice an opinion.

Try spending 37 years working in healthcare to benefit the populace - never coming close to what these guys make in ONE year..then getting laid off...NO parachutes here...

Try getting hit in the head by a 300 lb lineman or coming down with the ball while getting hit while you are trying to stay inbound. Watch the combine this spring and see what these guys can do. The salaries are outrageous because the players are expected to deliver on outrageous expectations.

The INSANE inequity in our nation.

Uneducated People that can throw , hit or bounce a ball living like this - while TEACHERS are spending theirr last dime to bring supplies to class.........classrooms that are underfunded. Police and Firemen under paid. Our Veterans who can't make ends meet after fighting a war. The list is WAY too long

Extremely overpaid for what they do. Nothing more than crackheads with all the money in the world, and so conceded their heads cannot fit inside a ten gallon hat. I do not like professional sports for this reason. The are not worth one tenth of what they are payed. There is no longer, the love of the game.

I think these guys should only be able to rent a home since you know after their carreers are over within 1 year they go bankrupt!

Nice digs but, and there is always a "but", what is the monthly costs of these homes? Taxes, mortgage, landscaping, heat, lights, ect all add up to money going out. Hope these NFLers have long term plans and do not end up like T.O.

It would have been great if you would have had a caption on each slide telling who's house it was.

I was thinking the same thing...because they all get different pay-checks and being able to AFFORD these homes is one thing ... but, after all is said and done the taxes, upkeep, alone are Quite Another BALL GAME I dare to say
