Dr. Drew Partners With Nivea For 'Million Moments Of Touch' Campaign

Nivea's Million Moments of Touch Campaign aims to highlight the necessity for physical contact in an increasingly tech-obsessed world. In case you needed convincing, the skincare brand tapped Dr. Drew Pinsky, the infamous sex expert and "Celebrity Rehab" star, to speak on the subject.
"Touch is fundamental to the human experience," he told the crowd at last night's launch event for the initiative. "It's the first sense that develops in the human developmental spectrum ... It's the inroad to intimacy, and intimate contact allows the brain to develop in a healthy way. It allows you to develop healthy emotional regulation."
To help couples reconnect, Nivea is offering a daily Facebook contest to win an all-expenses-paid date night. And comely couple Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell were on hand to tout the virtues of quality time, assuring the audience that they're not afraid of a little PDA. "We insist on scheduling date nights at least once a week," O'Connell said. "We try to escape to a quiet restaurant where we can hold hands over dinner and share occasional kisses over courses. When we're home, we always try to make time for cuddling alone, without our cell phones or computers. Put them away, people."
I caught up with Dr. Drew afterward to discuss skincare, "Lifechangers" and his upcoming VH1 project.
Besides Nivea, what does your skincare regimen involve?
I have all kinds of dermatological problems, so I have different kinds of Retin-A and Tazorac. My skin issues are pretty complicated.
What can we expect from your upcoming VH1 series?
We're going to be with no celebrities this time, which is something I've always wanted to do. When we first started doing "Celebrity Rehab," I wanted to do it with celebrities and regular people, just to make the point that we treat them all the same. But because we'd never done it on television before, I realized people couldn't consent to something they didn't understand. Celebrities got it and understood what they were getting into. And now we're finally going to have a chance to do that, to show that everyone's treated the same.
What's been your favorite "Lifechangers" episode so far?
I don't know when it's going to air, but we had several couples we tried to help and we put them in a couples' boot camp and they had a very intensive three-day experience. It was stunning.
What's your advice for Demi Moore while she's in rehab?
Follow your doctor's directions. Stay in treatment, and do not let famly or anything else get in the way of that.
