Diane von Furstenberg's New York City Penthouse In Architectural Digest

Fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg has it pretty good. Her signature wrap dresses are always in fashion, her latest Fall 2012 runway show was a crowd-pleasing success, and her New York City penthouse apartment is currently featured in Architectural Digest's new March issue. While we weren't there to witness her 'art of seduction' runway show, we did get a bit of a sneak peek inside her envy-inducing live/work space in Manhattan.

The most captivating room is in Von Furstenberg's office/living area, where the designer's love for globally inspired patterns and palettes is on full display. Woven chairs in a range of bright colors are mixed with Surrealist art, and family photographs are placed along the windowsill. While it may seem like there's a lot going on for one room, we like that it's filled with personality and an element of fun. “When I was young, I lived like an old woman, and when I got old, I had to live like a young person,” explains Von Furstenberg, who is now 65 years old.

And if you're wondering where (and if) Von Furstenberg sleeps, the answer is...in a bed under a bamboo pavilion with beautiful linen drapes. Oh, the glamour. Can't imagine how this indoor pavilion would look? Check it out over at architecturaldigest.com.

I can guarantee you the biggest room in the place is Barry Diller's closet.
