Team Zoe's Beauty Forecast: Silver Eyeshadow for Spring (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

Spring beauty trends are known for being light, ethereal and aptly refreshing after a season of deep, wintery hues. As the February frost starts to thaw, there's a look we're especially excited to try out -- silver eyeshadow.

Taking a cue from the models on the 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2012 runway, a swipe of metallic shadow just above the lid illuminates the face when paired with clean skin and a touch of mascara. Also spotted at Fendi and Prabal Gurung's spring shows, shiny silver lids are just the thing to bring our tired, snowy eyes back to life -- spring awakening, anyone?

Metallics, particularly silver eyeshadow is nothing new. Remember the 60? I do and I remember seeing these colors back then.

Woah...no. I came here thinking I would most likely try anything with makeup once, just to experiment. But this? I'll hold off on my adventurous side for now, thanks.

I sometimes wear a gunmetal shade of eyeshadow but, not in the style of the model in the photo. It is a dark, smoky shade of silver, has a little bit of sparkle to it and it is very pretty. It's one of my favorites and I can wear it for day or night depending upon how heavy I apply it. I consider it more of a neutral, much like a brown eyeshadow. I have brown eyes and this silver shade really seems to set them off.

I cannot even explain with words how hideous that model looks with that. I know her whole face isn't done but it's not going to be a good look for her. Silver isn't exactly a daytime color anyway. What's wrong with these 'artists'? Not a good workplace look, unless you swing on a pole.....

that swipe of silver looks ridiculous and not in a good way. if you have nothing a artistic to present don't try to think up something just because you need the money. we know more about eye shadow than the cosmetic companies' do. so please don't try to fool us or you guys will look like fools.

That CAN NOT be the right way to wear it. Spread it around, a thin light layer over the lid, or maybe mix the silver sparkle with a light shade of green or blue?

It sort of reminds me of the makeup that they applied to Zoe Saladana in Avatar. Maybe on aliens......not on humans. :)

Wow at the cost of this stuff, it would take millions to paint a car with it!

Yikdes, this is a horrible trend. I see pretty colors in a box, not on any real faces...why's that...cause its ugly!!
