Shark Tooth-Inspired Jewelry: Team Zoe's Picks (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

If your only association with shark's teeth is Jaws, allow us to take a far friendlier approach on the creature's chompers. Inspired by Givenchy's spring runway, shark tooth jewelry is a beachy-chic trend that can be worn whether you live on the coast or inland.

Paying homage to the formidable ocean dwellers, necklaces and bracelets adorned with their pearly whites are turning up everywhere. A little bit edgy and totally on-trend, we're ready to rock these toothy treasures.

You know for the mass marketed goods, they murder sharks unnecessarily for these teeth so dumb chicks can wear these necklaces for a couple months. They do not use the rest of the animal, they chop off the head and leave it to die, throw the head in the boat and drive off.

Totally senseless murder so some idiot can wear a charm for a short period of time. SO disgusting. The ocean fishing laws are not being followed and sharks are not being protected because they are seen as killers. Guess what -- they live in the ocean -- its theirs! Its the only place they can live. We humans think we need to take over and own everything, land, air, ocean, and its so tragic that we are destroying our ecosystem and doing senseless murders for no reason. Insane. DO NOT BUY SHARK TOOTH JEWELRY!!!

Thank you though I do want to make clear that a lot of this jewelry is not made of actual teeth. The stuff that is though, please avoid like the plague. Many species are endangered and have little protection due to fear and greed.
