Kate Moss, Florence Welch And Rihanna Are Style Stars This Week (PHOTOS)

HuffPost Social Reading

The Oscars are my Super Bowl and the week preceding the awards are almost as fun as the show itself. I love the drama of it all -- the parties, the anticipation and most of all, the clothes. The blur of pre-Oscars activity is coming to a close, but there are still outfits to be admired. Be warned: there are a fair amount of little black dresses this week.

But the best style isn't reserved for the formal events -- oh no -- we love nothing more than a star who inspires us in her daily run to the grocery store. Our favorites are usually the celebrities who are dashing around town with loose hair, no makeup and jeans (with heels of course, most of them are in L.A. after all). Herewith, our roundup of this week's best-dressed celebrities.

In related news, take a look at Rihanna's craziest bikini moments.

Kate Moss does look good, I just hope she doesn't go the way of so many and overdo it with the plastic surgery. I would love to see her age gracefully. Shalom Harlow looks elegant and beautiful.

Am I the only one who looks at these for the clothes? I have no idea who have these women are, and I don't care, but they all look great. I'm amused that two of the looks were Winsletted, now with Kate Moss's blessing.

Rhianna has certanly been a hot topic this last week or so following the BritAwards & her collaboration with Chris Brown on some new work!

I know I can't be the only one who is able to see how overrated and unjustly over exposed this Rihanna is. When a product is of low quality it must be shoved down the impressionable consumers' throats. An item of true quality and class sells itself. These days, celebrities are manufactured. The public is told who is "talented" and "popular" by others who have an interest in that person becoming successful.Success is NOT earned and "celebrities" rarely become famous through "talent" or lack of. Think about this closely, don't just reject it because you are so convinced that your favorite star is great. Truly evaluate what it is you like about them and see if they still pass the sniff test versus stars from earlier generations and the classic definition of music, acting skill etc. Note the simplistic contemporary subject matter and lyrics. Most of it is so incredibly superficial and transparent. Even Pseudo-Intellectuals and die hard fans would find it difficult to defend or win a debate in favor of the contemporary artist versus those of earlier periods.

It would be interesting to see what Stella McCartney would do in dressing Michelle Obama. Michelle would never let Stella go too risque, but it would be interesting to see what Stella would come up with.

Is it just me or has almost every article about Rhianna lately been highlighting her nudity or inappropriate behavior? Is this the only way this girl can get attention? Why not tell us about a great new song or something she has done for charity? Enough already! We get it it. She doesn't have any boundaries...do any of them?
05:54 PM on 02/24/2012
Does she have anything left that she hasn't bared?
05:44 PM on 02/24/2012
Hope Rihanna is getting good advice about her future and career. And please don't say she is making nice with Chris Brown.

To say that the fashion fuss is "almost as much fun" as the awards show is damning it with faint praise indeed. The awards show is a very glorified commercial for Hollywood, lamely produced and sloppily directed. Instead of being an appreciation of excellence, it is a flaunting of excess. Better we should all go bowling.
