Kate Moss is feeling a bit of remorse.

After being slammed by eating disorder experts for her now infamous quote "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels," the model is feeling the heat from her inner circle including Topshop owner Sir Philip Green and boyfriend Jamie Hince, reports the Daily Mail.

Green thought Moss' comment was out of line, especially since the supermodel's line for Topshop is targeted toward young women. Hince, meanwhile, accused his girlfriend of speaking before thinking, adds the source. (Ouch!)

With pressure coming from all angles, Moss' team went into damage control mode and issued a rather robotic statement: "For the record - Kate does not support this as a lifestyle choice," the paper reported.

While we would have expected a more heartfelt apology, we're just hoping Moss really feels that way.

The 35-year-old English Rose isn't only making headlines with her skinny sentiments, she recently threw a model-themed birthday party for Jude Law's eight-year old daughter. And we thought Kate started young.

Hillary Clinton may need to take a style pointer or two from Michelle Obama.

The former First Lady and current U.S. Secretary of State arrived in Kabul, Afghanistan this morning in a floral embroidered coat that screamed 1969 (and not in a good way).

While we can see Kate Moss rocking this number with ripped jeans and tousled hair, we're not so sure bold boho works on the poster child of the pantsuit.

Watch your back Kate! There's soon to be another supermodel-slash-designer in the mix.

Claudia Schiffer revealed at the IMG and International Herald Tribune's luxury conference in Berlin that she was looking for investors to launch her own clothing brand, reports Reuters.

"I would love to create my own lines now," the iconic German beauty said.

Considering her resume includes recent campaigns for YSL, Salvatore Ferragamo and Alberta Ferretti, the leggy 39-year-old is sticking to what she knows best: luxury.

"I would love to do cashmere, it is something I wear all the time myself," Schiffer mused. "I want the brand to be timeless and classic, with a fashion sensibility," quotes the news site.

But don't expect the supermodel to be retiring anytime soon. The multitasker is hoping to model for "as long as possible."

Moss shouldn't really worry about Schiffer nipping at her design heels -- the waif-y supermodel is already on her third fragrance.

Chances are you still have unused gift cards stashed in a drawer somewhere -- and the Federal Reserve isn't too happy about it.

According to consulting firm TowerGroup, Americans spent $88.4 billion on gift cards in 2008 yet a whopping $6.4 billion went unused. And that's an improvement from the previous year, when $97 billion in gift cards were purchased but $8 billion weren't redeemed, reports the Wall Street Journal.

Currently, gift card issuers are largely unregulated with various fees and expiration dates, but with the Federal Reserve's new regulations proposed yesterday, this might not be the case for long.

The central banking system noted in its report that 95 percent of Americans have received or purchased a gift card at some point, and that the proposed new rules would limit the fees retailers and issuers like MasterCard or Visa would be allowed to impose on card holders.

Under the proposed laws, retailers and credit card companies can charge no more than one service or dormancy fee a month per gift card and will be required to extend expiration dates to a minimum of five years.

If the regulations are finalized, the laws will be part of the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 but won't go into effect until August 2010.

Lindsay Lohan may have to eat some serious crow.

After a disastrous debut as artistic advisor at Emanuel Ungaro, the actress turned "designer" shocked critics by claiming she was working on a jewelry collaboration with legendary jeweler Pascal Mouawad for mega retailer bebe.

At first, the story wasn't that far-fetched since Mouawad has previously partnered with celebs including Nicole Richie and Heidi Klum on their respective jewelry lines.

A spokesperson for bebe told StyleList, "Lindsay is not doing a line with us. We had talked to her months ago but never went forward with anything."

And, Mouawad himself, decided to put the fashion rumor to rest as well.

In an email to WWD, Mouawad said that while there were discussions for a LiLo for bebe collaboration, the outcome was far from decided upon. He stated outright: "This is not happening."

Lohan may not be doing on a line for bebe, but design ambitions seem to run in the family. Lindsay's mom, Dina, is launching a line of footwear.

Fashion may be about appearances, but UK schools are speaking out against fashionable girls being labeled as shallow.

"Girls who care about their appearance are increasingly seen as betraying some feminist ideal," Jill Berry, president of the Girls' Schools Association announced at the annual GSA conference, reports Times Online UK.

Representing more than 200 private all-girl schools in Britain, Berry went on to emphasize that brains and beauty are not "mutually exclusive" and added, "I love new shoes but it doesn't make me shallow. Girls can have fun and also be taken seriously."

Given the usual stereotype of airheaded fashionistas, we say it's about time someone stuck up for stylish (and smart) women. Well said, Berry!

We reported impressive crowds and die-hard fans for the Jimmy Choo for H&M launch in New York this weekend, but the high-low collaboration isn't just a hit on this side of the pond.

Despite the rain, UK shoppers also queued up to snatch up the affordable capsule collection, which sold out in mere hours, reports the Daily Mail UK.

But some shoppers were out to make a buck. Even with new buying limits -- shoppers can only buy one size per style of shoe -- Jimmy Choo for H&M heels hit eBay less than 24 hours after the collection's launch.

Sellers willing to part with their hard-won heels hit some major pay dirt. Several pieces including a peep-toe bootie sold on the online auction site for double the price, reports the Daily Mail UK.

If you missed out on the luxury-meets-fast fashion collaboration the first go-around, don't fret: A spokesperson for H&M told the same source that stores would be replenishing stock with another shipment of Jimmy Choo for H&M goodies.

JCPenney had a tough third quarter.

The Texas-based retailer reported to investors today a 80% drop in earnings per share compared to the same quarter last year.

Not only is Alexander Wang a favorite among fashion editors and A-listers alike, but now the designer has received international honors, winning the Swiss Textiles Award.

Upon taking the stage, Wang was visibly shaking and mentioned that his whole team deserved the recognition, reports Grazia UK.

The coveted annual award, worth a whopping €100,000 (roughly $150,000), is handed out to a talented young designer each year. Past winners include Halston designer Marios Schwab (2007) and Rodarte (2008).

This year, Wang beat out some tough competition including Michelle Obama favorite Thakoon, budding French couture star Alexis Mabille and UK-based line Erdem.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Wang told the magazine, "There's always more to do! I can do so much more with my business now -- I'm very lucky."

Luck may be part of it, but talent is talent!

The young designer also recently became a member of this prestigious fashion organization.

One of Michelle Obama's favorite designers, Jason Wu, has just announced a collaboration with luxe cashmere line Tse for a limited edition capsule collection launching next fall.

While press and buyers will get a glimpse of the line at Tse's Fall 2010 presentation during New York Fashion Week in February, shoppers will have to wait until July 2010 for the knit and woven pieces to hit stores.

Wu is slated to design approximately 15 women's looks which will be available at Tse boutiques, Tse's online shopping site and select retailers worldwide.

Of the collaboration, Wu says: "Working with Tse on a capsule felt like a natural choice because we share so many of the same ideals: modernity, refinement, sophistication. I offer this collection not merely as a counterpart to my own, but for the opportunity to contribute to Tse's compelling design heritage and its innovative approach to cashmere."

Mrs. O -- Tse is famous for its classic cardigans -- won't be the only one excited about the collaboration. We can't wait to see what the young and uber talented designer does with cashmere!

Dooney & Bourke co-founder and chairman Frederic Bourke has been sentenced to one year and one day in prison for his role in bribing officials in Azerbaijan, reports the Wall Street Journal.

At the sentencing hearing, U.S. District Court Judge Shira Scheindlin also ordered Bourke to pay a $1 million dollar fine and will be under supervised release for three years after his term ends.

During the sentencing, Judge Scheindlin stated that it was "still not entirely clear whether Mr. Bourke is a victim, or a crook, or a little bit of both."

But added that the prison term was necessary to send a message that "such bribery must and will result in a jail sentence," reports the paper.

In July a jury found the 63-year-old executive guilty of conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Prosecutors alleged that Bourke was aware of a plot in the '90s by Viktor Kozeny, president and chairman of Oily Rock Group Ltd., to bribe Azeri officials to allow Kozeny's investment group to a buy a stake in the government's oil corporation.

The prosecutors alleged that Kozeny then persuaded Bourke to invest in the illegal scheme, according to the source.

Kozeny is fighting extradition -- he is currently in the Bahamas -- and will face tougher federal criminal charges once on U.S. soil.

Meanwhile, Bourke's lawyers plan to appeal his sentence.

The handbag exec isn't the only fashion mogul to face time behind bars, this designer was infamously sentenced for 59 years.

Retailers nationwide are gearing up for the holiday shopping season, and with the current state of the economy, consumer spending is all the more important.

So it makes perfect sense that JCPenney is jumping on the social networking bandwagon by connecting with customers through a new Facebook page.

Part of its larger "Joy of Giving" campaign, the customized Facebook page features holiday shopping ideas with links to JCPenney's main site, a "weekly obsession" item and a virtual Salvation Army "Angel Giving Tree," giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase gifts for children and senior citizens in need.

Look out for added features as the holidays approach, including a special Facebook gifting app which allows customers to share stories, post comments and get shopping advice.

And for those dreading Black Friday crowds, the Texas-based chain is rolling out the retail red carpet through its "JCPenney At Your Service" Facebook sweepstakes.

Lucky winners will receive limo transport to their nearest JCPenney on Black Friday, where they'll have a shopping butler at their disposal, be given a $500 gift card, a stylist consult and a personal gift-wrapping assistant. (That's more like it!)

Saks Fifth Avenue is having financial issues, but surprisingly, the economy is not to blame for this one. Instead, it's looking like employees have been caught stealing from their high-end department store employer.

Saks sales associate Kashien Mercer was arrested by the Manhattan DA on charges of grand larceny, reports the New York Post.

Authorities said that Mercer had allegedly been ringing up "returns" on items stolen from the company's Fifth Avenue flagship in NYC to the tune of $130,000.

Surveillance video captured the 23-year-old crediting the various amounts to an electronic gift card which he then kept for himself, according to the paper.

And it appears Mercer isn't alone in his alleged swindling efforts. Authorities said two other Saks employees were arrested for similar schemes just two weeks prior.

One rang up $169,000 in illegal credit, while the other was small-time, in comparison, pocketing $10,000, reports the paper.

The retailer is not alone. This customer service employee supposedly stole $12,000 worth of designer shoes on the job.

Alicia Keys at Latin Grammy Awards

Add Alicia Keys to the long list of celebrities turned fashion designers.

The songstress is launching The Barber's Daughters, a collaboration with jeweler Gisèle Theriault. The partnership kicks off Nov. 23 and 24 with a pop-up shop at the Collette Blanchard Gallery, 26 Clinton Street, on NYC's hip Lower East Side.

The hand-crafted jewelry line is all about the power of positive vibes, featuring precious metals inscribed with thoughts, poetry and prayers from the author of "Hidden Messages in Water," Dr. Masaru Emoto.

Grammy winner Keys talks about the idea behind the line in an interview on the collection's site:

"The words, when you read them, they really do resonate with you. They kind of inspire you to want to find that place in yourself," she explained.

At the time of the interview, the singer was wearing a silver oval ring that read: "May you find inspiration and meaning soaked in the wonders of the imagination cradled in compassion of the heart and hold a will to make difference."

Keys isn't the only one in the music industry to get in on the fashion thing, this famous DJ teamed up with Gucci on limited edition sneakers.

Forever 21 has been sued for copyright infringement so many times, we've lost count.

But in the latest on-going round with Express, a Los Angeles judge has denied a motion to shield Forever 21 founders Do Won Chang and Jin Sook Chang from depositions, reports WWD.

The drawn out legal battle with Express dates back to December 2007 when the retail chain charged Forever 21 with infringing its copyrighted plaid patterns for men's shorts, says the fashion news site.

With the trial set for next September and the fast fashion retailer's founders now subject to legal depositions, sounds like the case is heating up!

But perhaps the two fashion retailers can work it out on their own as Forever 21 recently settled a copyright infringement suit with Trovata out of court.

In the latest case of luxury brands going online, Burberry launched a new social media site today, aptly named ArtoftheTrench.

Along with casting young starlets like Emma Watson in recent ad campaigns, the British fashion house continues to update its classic image by enlisting photographer Scott Schuman from The Sartorialist -- who also shot Hilary Duff's line for DKNY -- as its first online collaborator.

Last we checked, the site featured Schuman's street style shots of fashionistas in, you guessed it, trench coats. Viewers can comment, share the photos or click a "Like" button to record their preferences.

The site also taps into online networking by allowing Facebook users to post photos and comments about Burberry trench coats.

There's also a cool timeline tracing Burberry's trench back to the early 1900s when founder Thomas Burberry developed the patented weatherproof gabardine which was used for both stylish trenches and mountaineering gear.

Sounds like the perfect marriage of fashion and function.

Still mad for plaid? The British line announced plans to add cosmetics to its stylish offerings.

So much for wearing flats!

While the debate on whether sky-high stilettos pose a health and safety risk rages on, women in the UK are apparently unfazed. Not only are they continuing to wear "killer" heels, they're also willing to drop significant cash for one-of-a-kind, custom-made ones.

"It used to be women coming in who had foot problems," British made-to-measure shoemaker Caroline Groves explains to The Independent. "But now they are younger women who have had lots of designer shoes but want something longer lasting with more character."

To standout in a sea of Louboutins, be prepared to pay a high price: Groves' bespoke creations range from £1,600 to £2,500 ($2,654 to $4,147) a pair.

Market forecasting agency WGSN explains to the British paper that this pricey trend is part of a larger movement which has women buying fewer things but of higher quality.

Designer Rupert Sanderson, whose fans include Kristin Scott Thomas and "Slumdog Millionaire" star Freida Pinto, is offering the made-to-order service, allowing clients to choose a shoe's style, color and fabric.

Sanderson's "Winona" custom colored croc heels go for a whopping £3,495 ($5,797).

Vogue UK's fashion features editor Harriet Quick told The Independent: "The threshold on what people spend on shoes has gone through the roof. They have raised the bar on what a shoe is; with height, skins and embellishment, so that is factored into the price."

She's not kidding.

Zac Efron takes his denim seriously. (Either that or he hates doing laundry.)

The "High School Musical" star admits to wearing his favorite G-Star Raw jeans continuously for eight weeks to achieve that ideal worn-in look from the once stiff denim, reports WWD.

"I wore them all throughout 'High School Musical 3.' I even wore them hiking. You have to wear them everywhere to get them right," Efron told the source at the G-Star and Nylon Guys fête for the actor on Wednesday.

While we love the actor's style and dedication, we're not so sure about his hygiene. Eight weeks without washing?!

Dirty denim is one trend we're not condoning.

Just when we thought the "It" bag was over, Yves Saint Laurent comes out with the "Roady," which has celebs like Mary-Kate Olsen, Rihanna and Katy Perry clamoring for the hobo style.

But like so many "It" items, seeing everyone and their mother carrying the same bag as you is a total fashion downer.

Luckily, YSL has the perfect solution. Shoppers in Los Angeles and New York City will be able to put their own stylish spin on the "Roady" from Nov. 19 through Dec. 1.

Here's how it works: You choose from colored, patent, sting ray and black nappa versions of the bag, then artisans are on hand to customize the purse with special handles -- there are 29 options -- and a complimentary monogram inside the bag.

While we're all for personalized fashion, the price of being original doesn't come cheap.

The "Roady" ranges from $1,195 - $1,795, with an extra charge for the special handles -- $225 for lizard, $385 for ostrich and $515 for crocodile.

Here's another lust-worthy bag, but don't expect any deals -- this iconic bag never goes on sale.

With Victoria's Secret Angels getting pregnant in droves, the lingerie company didn't have much of a choice but to launch its Victoria's Secret Fashion Show National Model Search for the next Runway Angel.

The competition kicked off Oct. 3 with casting calls nationwide, and now Victoria's Secret has narrowed it down to 10 gorgeous girls.

At the penthouse duplex model apartment (complete with sweeping deck and hot tub) in New York City's Financial District, Victoria's Secret announced the following finalists this am:

  • Kylie Bisutti, 19, Simi Valley, CA
  • Jamie Lee Darley, 23, Carmel, CA
  • Raven Ervin, 24, Birmingham, AL
  • Katelyn Fortes, 18, Boston, MA
  • Alicia Hall, 24, Las Vegas, NV
  • Krystina Holbrook, 20, El Dorado Hills, CA
  • Tika Ivezaj, 25, Detroit, MI
  • Catharina Lee, 20, Washington, DC
  • Courtney O'Conner, 20, Raleigh, NC
  • Allison Turner, 23, Cape Girardeau, MO
The aspiring models come from a surprisingly wide-range of backgrounds: Tika Ivezaj is Albanian-American, married and has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do; Allison Turner hails from a 60-acre farm in Missouri and Adriana Lima look-alike Alicia Hall would rather hike canyons than hit the clubs despite growing up in Sin City.

With 10 girls living in one apartment and a camera crew taping their every move, there's bound to be some tension.

Not so, says Cali native Jamie Lee Darley, who explained to StyleList that no one has a negative attitude... yet.

Katelyn Fortes, the youngest of the leggy bunch and a hurdles track champion, added, "It's like a sorority!"

Though, Krystina Holbrook chimed in, "I think when the second run of cuts happens and five girls go home, that's when the competition might build. Then we'll have to bring out our A-game!"

And true to VS, the girls need likable personalities to go with their bodacious bods. And the public will get to vote on who should move via the brand's specially dedicated site.

To further fuel the competition, Victoria's Secret has been putting the finalists through the paces with a series of challenges called "Angel Boot Camp."

"I expected to come into the house and have 4 am ringing buzzers saying 'Alright, drop and give me 50!,'" Kylie Bisutti told us.

Instead, the girls are facing more unexpected challenges, but are keeping mum on the details. Raven Ervin quips, "You have to watch to find out!"

Victoria's Secret isn't the only fashionable company on the hunt for new modeling blood. This iconic modeling agency is looking for the next "Supermodel of the World."
