The beauty look, described by beauty key Wendy at <a href="http://www.makeupforever.com/">Make Up For Ever</a>, was for vintage with a modern feeling, a sad doll, inspired by vintage mannequins from the 1920s.<br /><p><a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2009/02/18/jillian-lewis-and-sewing-machines/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Jillian Lewis and Sewing Machines</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2009/02/18/jillian-lewis-and-sewing-machines/">Jillian Lewis and Sewing Machines</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.stylelist.com">StyleList</a> on Wed, 18 Feb 2009 10:30:00 EST. His modern goth could never be confused for cheap or blatant. In this shot from FW '09 at <a href="http://www.nycago.org/Organs/NYC/html/OurLadyGuadalupe.html">Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe</a>, during New York Fashion Week, we see a simple, but theatrical drama being played out.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2009/02/14/patrik-rzepski-fw-09/">Patrik Rzepski FW '09 </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.stylelist.com">StyleList</a> on Sat, 14 Feb 2009 15:30:00 EST. Hosted by <a href="http://www.subboutique.com">Subdivision Boutique</a>, the show was enjoyably informal and unpretentious. Shown above, the 2 level space is a stellar location with impressive brick and metal architecture. On the first level, each designer had space for a small trunk show.<p><a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2009/02/14/the-foundry/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Foundry - NY Fashion Week Gets Started</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2009/02/14/the-foundry/">The Foundry - NY Fashion Week Gets Started</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.stylelist.com">StyleList</a> on Sat, 14 Feb 2009 14:00:00 EST. We did a little Photoshop work to obscure the rsvp info (he's in the Bryant Park tents, part of the official <a href="http://mbfashionweek.com/newyork/">Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week</a> program). The notable detail work seen here is that the card stock was run through a sewing machine to create the red, ribbon-esque pattern. We think we can even make out marks left by the feed dogs. It's simple and elegant, exactly what we expect from Phillip Lim. Maybe red pops of color will be part of this season's motif?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2009/02/14/phillip-lim-3-1-ny-fashion-week-invitation/">3.1 Phillip Lim - NY Fashion Week Invitation </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.stylelist.com">StyleList</a> on Sat, 14 Feb 2009 09:00:00 EST. It's like folding a paper into thirds, with three people each drawing a head, torso or legs. The result usually is some alien or oddity. The group of finalists for this <a href="http://www.cfda.com/">CFDA</a> endorsed honor was rock solid. But we're thrilled to see Robert Geller take home a $50,000 cash prize as the official, rising star. He'll also design a limited-edition collection for Levi's, due to hit Levi.com just in time for the next New York Fashion Week in September, '09.<p><a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2009/02/13/robert-geller-gq-best-new-menswear-designer-in-america/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Robert Geller - GQ Best New Men's Wear Designer in America</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2009/02/13/robert-geller-gq-best-new-menswear-designer-in-america/">Robert Geller - GQ Best New Men's Wear Designer in America</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.stylelist.com">StyleList</a> on Fri, 13 Feb 2009 09:30:00 EST. He's among the best known from a generation of designers that re-invented a tired, design vocabulary to offer wildly atmospheric visions and the products to fill them. In our view, <a href="http://www.hayonstudio.com/">Jamie Hayon</a> is one of the very few comparables, but Wanders will always be known for his uniquely humorous slant on fantasy in real life.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2009/02/06/marcel-wanders-behind-the-ceiling/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Marcel Wanders Behind the Ceiling</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2009/02/06/marcel-wanders-behind-the-ceiling/">Marcel Wanders Behind the Ceiling</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.stylelist.com">StyleList</a> on Fri, 06 Feb 2009 19:00:00 EST.
