Called iSurgeon, the app was developed by Miami-based Dr. Michael Salzhauer, who authored a book called My Beautiful Mommy -- meant to help young children deal with their mom’s new looks. Now, Dr. Salzhauer has aimed his scalpel at anyone who might want a quick DIY digital surgery. A game mode lets you try on lip enhancements, tummy tucks, breast augmentations and many other types of improvements—but watch out, this could be addicting. read more

For a New York Public Library benefit, makeup artist Robert Moulton gave Leighton Meester a suitably refined take on dark smudgy eyes. "I wanted the look to have a hint of glitter and shimmer, but to still seem very contained," he said. He started by rimming her lashlines with waterproof black liner, then blended a metallic purple shadow up to—but not above—the crease. Then, rather than sweeping shimmery black powder across the entire lid for a faded effect, he dabbed it along the lashline, and finished with tons of black mascara.
