Supermodel catfight: Who is The Body?

Filed under: Runway Trends, Style in the News, Celebrities with Style

At the launch of Victoria's Secret's latest creation -- The Body Bra -- supermodel Heidi Klum claimed that "The Body" was her nickname, and that the bra was named after her. But when Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson got wind of what Klum said, an unprecedented supermodel cat fight -- not over a man, or a cover, or an agent -- but over a nickname, was set into motion.

Yes, you read that correctly: a nickname.
(And not a very good nickname at that.)

Elle claims that she has been known as The Body for going on 20 years now. She even has the press clippings to prove it -- articles from respected magazines like Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, and Sports Illustrated. But Klum says that she is "The Body", and she also has the media clippings to prove it. Victoria's Secret is wisely trying to stay out of it.

Forgive me for discussing the pink elephant that is in the room right now, but isn't it a little sad that these two women are fighting over a stupid nickname? If it were "Klum Boom!" or "Elle Ma Belle", I might be able to understand it.

But "The Body"? Come on! That's the worst nickname ever -- Elle should be relieved.
