10 best bras ever
While most bras regard the form/function question as an either/or proposition, a few lingerie designers have managed to successfully walk the line between supportive and sexy. And that's why they've made it onto Styledash.com's list of the 10 best bras ever.
1. Fayreform 'Candid' Underwire BraFor those of us who like full-cup coverage but don't want to sacrifice the allure of a very sexy bra, the Candid Underwire Bra fits the bill. The wide straps promise a full day free from the tug-of-war against your lingerie, and with sizes that go all the way up to 38G, this is a bra for everyone. Plus, paisley lace + pretty ribbon = true love.
2. La Perla Allure Padded Push Up Bra
At $213, this bra is definitely not your every piece of lingerie. But the Georgette fabric and the double stranded straps make it worth every penny. I mean, if this bra can make a mannequin look sexy, imagine the real-life possibilities...
3. Wacoal Petite Lace Contour Bra
Finding a good T-shirt bra is like searching for the Holy Grail. But, you can come close with Wacoal's Petite Lace Contour Bra. While it may not be the sexiest bra on this list, it does offer full coverage with a little bit of somethin'-somethin' to make it worth your while. By the way, my well-endowed friends swear by Wacoal.
4. La Mystere Gigi Push-Up Bra
With a name like "Gigi", this bra naturally has a vampy burlesque feeling to it. It looks hot, it sounds hot. As someone who has recently become a La Mystere believer, this bra looks smashing under everything, from the tightest t-shirt to the most form-fitting dress.
5. Chantelle Chantilly Demi-Bra
As the song goes, "Chantilly lace and a pretty face,/ And a ponytail hanging down,/ That wiggle in the walk and giggle in the talk,/ Makes the world go round." But enough of that trip down the Oldies' station memory. This bra by Chantelle combines the ever-appealing juxtaposition of white lace and demi-cups, which comes off as hot, hot, hot! And with the thick straps and high Lycra content, this bra is sure to be as comfortable as it is sexy.
6. On Gossamer 'Bump It Up' Bra
As the name suggests, this push-up bra is built to add a cup size to your shape without all sorts of seams or uneven padding. The graduated pads in this bra give you great cleavage without looking like you are trying too hard. This bra comes in red and in black -- colors which beg to be seen.
7. Natori Foundations Cotton Blend Underwire Sports Bra
So, it's not made of lace and it probably won't work out so well for that spontaneous strip tease you had planned for later that night, but a good exercise bra is worth its weight in gold. The underwire cups divide and separate, preventing that horrible uniboob that most of us suffer from during a workout. Bounce-free and comfortable -- what could be better?
8. Cosabella Ceylon Push-Up Bra
I'm not sure why this bra is called the Ceylon, but then again, what's in a name anyway? I love the low dip of this shelf-like lace bra. The spaghetti straps and the interesting fabric pattern make this push-up bra totally unique. And isn't the chocolate color fantastic?
9. Hanky Panky Bralette
When the weekend rolls around, the last thing on your mind is underwire and push-up. But that doesn't mean that you are willing to sacrifice good shape just to be comfortable while you lounge around on the couch all weekend long. With this wire-free bralette, you can be sure that you'll look great in this light, (but lacy!) supportive lingerie.
10. Fantasie 'Rimini' Underwire Bra
I absolutely love the Swiss Embroidery on this bra. The three-part cup of this full-coverage bra offers the dynamic stretch and support that women with more than just A-cups need. With strong straps, this bra comes in a wide range of sizes for sexy women with all kinds of body types.

You folks ever heard of Victoria's secret? VS bras are by far more comfortable and better fitting than at least 6 of those you memtion. I have tried most of your reccommended bras and only if you are a 34b or smaller are they comfortable.

Some people dont like Victorias Secret, you dont have to go there. I think there pretty cheap bras. For the ones I had they weren't that successful for me. People might like them but for my opinion I dont.

I think beauty can be found with comfort. Only about two of the ones pictured actually look comfortable. Why try to look like you have something that you don't? Be happy in your own skin! Support is much more important than discomfort and 'looking larger'. Add a decade or two to life and it will be more obvious to you.

The wonderbra is better than any of these bras and you can buy it at any factory outlet near you. Plus it is definately alot cheaper.

The only thing I want to know is... How long does a $213 bra last? Are you supposed to wear it or just look at it? (I guess that's 2 things!)

I was hesitant to read this article, because usually the bras featured are only suited for A thru C cups. Being a natural 34 DD and 133lbs. I usually find the recomendations don't apply. I think Anne did a wonderful job in covering sizes and styles for everyone. Thanks Anne!!!

I have found that the odd brand "The Best Fitting Intimates in the World" Feels like one has no bra on. It is comfortable for all day, made of soft micro fibre, even has underwires! It also comes in beautiful colors and has several different styles. My only problem is I can only find it at WalMart in a small town in Missouri and I live in Pennsylvania. If you are lucky enough to see this brand I recommend trying it!

Are you insane? Most of those bras are not only uncomfortable, but ugly to boot! Comfort is different than attraction I realize, but there's nothing better than to have sexy bras and panties under your suit when you go to work. Or go out at night...or go anywhere really... I don't want to feel like I'm wearing armor when I leave my apartment.

OK so we are the capitalist elite of the world and far from teetering on the labeling of a 3rd world country ... nonetheless, much like razorblades and underpants ... bras are way too overpriced in this country ... if you need perspective check out prices online at departments stores native to Montreal, Sao Paolo or the Virgin Islands ... stock up online at these retailers or check out Hanes new cotton line of bra's sold at Target ... our Fancy French store

I agree Wacoal is close to perfect. I am a 36 D but because of my petite frame I usually opt for a smaller size. VS bras and many others, the underwire digs into my arm pit. . .very uncomfortable.

It's Shannon, not Sharon, you dingbat... READ. Speaking only from one man's point of view (mine), I prefer a smaller breast. B's maybe.. You get into D's and up, they get frightening, and I get intimidated. Yeah, weird, I know... And Shannon, I'm sure "they're real, and they're spectacular".

I became addicted to front closure bras about 15 years ago. Now you can't find them anywhere. VS does show a stlye on-line but not available in their stores. Shipping and handling costs really add to the cost of the bra. If anybody knows of any styles out there I would appreciate the info.

I also love front closure bras and have a hard time finding one without underwire, fiberfilled and is comfortable. The elastic around the body seems to roll up and is most uncomfortable. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have been to Victoria Secret and they don't even carry the size that I wear....32D, which by the way is a very common size. I found the WaCoal at Dillard's, where I was sized correctly...and that is the key to comfort...the correct size! They carry many different styles of the WaCoal, one for everyone! They carry the LyMystere in very large sizes too for the full busted, along with many other full busted styles.

I must agree with many of the others - coverage, pardon the pun, didn't extend to many of us! I wear a 40F and it's extremely difficult to find bras which offer support but do not look industrial-strength! We too love sexy and comfort but require support as well. Luckily for me Frederick's fits the bill!

These bras are great if you're 18 with a small cup size. What about us women who have had 3+ children and have boobs that sag to our rib cage. I am a natural 34DD. I can't find a bra that I don't pooch out over the top or made for grandma.
