Seven Days of Style: Gorgeous on your Getaway

Filed under: Holiday Style, Handbags, Accessories, Clothing, Swimwear and Lingerie, Dresses

seven days ofvacation getawayAll this talk of gift shopping, party planning, and party-going for the Holidays, and we have hardly said a word about anothe big "thing" associated with this time of year: travel! Of course, we've pointed to a few weekender bags here and there, and mentioned that the TSA has updated guidelines for carry-on luggage, but how could we forget the most important thing of all?!?!

Looking good.

Styledash has seven days of seven ways to look absolutely wonderful on your winter escape. We are guessing that most of us will be off to a tropical paradise, so we'll start with that today. Bon Voyage!

Sunday - I'm a little odd in that I wear full makeup when I go to the beach or hang by the pool (it's all waterproof, and besides, I never leave my shaded lounge chair under the umbrella anyway), but I do know that there are many women who go barefaced. Bad! You can most certainly go without makeup, but you should never go out without a heavy application of sunscreen both on your skin and on your lips. I have SPF in everything from my moisturizer, foundation, and compact powder.

Monday - You can't be a global jetsetter without donning a pair of sunglasses. For your island getaway, the tortoise rimmed sunspecs from Versace will fit right in with that natural setting. Versace Glam Frame sunglasses are $220 at Nordstrom.

Tuesday - In most places, you are free to run around in your bikini, but in case you are feeling slightly modest, cover up in a comfortable shorts-jumper. Charlotte Solnicki's Cotton Romper is $99 at ShopBop and comes in more than a half dozen colors.

Wednesday - We love this bikini from Juicy Couture for two reasons. One, it's pretty much screamingly adorable with its built-in "coverup" of a skirt that features a sassy little chain belt with heart and key charms and 2) we like that it looks absolutely gorgeous on a super fair-skinned model. See? We told you should wear sunscreen!

Thursday - We didn't mean to, honest we didn't, but we picked these Michael Kors wedge espadrilles before we picked the bikini, but can we help it that they match ever so perfectly? They're perfect for showing off that perfect pedicure, and at 41/2" high, they'll make your legs look as long as the sunset on the hosrizon. The espadrilles ar $97.90 at Nordstrom. And since we're getting all matchy matchy, Juicy Couture also makes flip flops that'll match that navy blue bikini perfectly.

Friday - You might be tempted to lounge around on the veranda of your condo on the beach after a long day in the sun, but honey, you are going out on the town! Okay, so maybe it's dinner and drinks, but you can still get dressed up. Is it any more perfect for your tropical evening than Ya-Ya's Swahili Beach Kimono Dress?

Saturday - The ginormous bag is so last year, and even though technically it still is last year, you've jumped ahead to Spring styles because you're on vacation. Sashay around the beach town toting your tiny travel-sized goods in Gucci's Peggy Shoulder Bag, $1,495 at Neiman Marcus.
