Should men wear mascara?
Should men wear mascara?Apparently, H&M thinks they should, since they are selling their own brand of mascara in their stores.
This news, of course, is coming from UK-based Guardian, so I am not sure if H&M's U.S. stores are doing the same, but no matter. Writer James Wallman bought a tube -- "A packet. A bottle. I don't know what you call it," he says -- and tried it on. With quite a bit of effort.
Apparently, the male cosmetics market in the UK is growing, with men wanting to look younger. That's no surprise, as I've seen luxury skincare lines for men explode all over the market. However, the use of mascara comes from the punk/goth revival, and H&M's "customers were asking for it in stores."
Mascara and leggings. I can't wait to see what's next for men.

Tend to think more natural and less makeup is healthier in the long run and my lashes since I can recall are delicate so hardly wear mascara now but if you want to of course you could some of the musicians look cool in some makeup

Best for men not to become so concerned about their appearances. Vanity is not a virtue but make-up for men may be inevitable especially for those of us who are aging and have to compete with younger folks in the workplace and relationships. I don't like it but I don't like these dark circles under my eyes either. What's a boy to do?

Definitely funny. What's worse is the lack of dental care & maintenance in the UK. Have you ever looked at photos, TV, etc., of the majority of the people?
Look at their teeth. You can try to smell good, dress fashionably, etc., but once you smile the whole illusion goes down the drain. Cigarette stains even add to the yuck factor. Take care of the mouth first.

Now that women are in the job market they have become more discriminating about guys. They no longer have to depend on them. Women are increasingly looking for younger and even trophy guys. There is a growing movement called cougars, and cougar dens. This pertains to younger men with more "experienced" women. Look at the likes of Demi Moore, Madonna and others. They are not just dating them, but they are marrying them. These women have money. They want what men with money have always wanted. Young, hot mates! Now the tables are turning. This is causing a domino effect with the guys all over the world. To compete they realize they need to be younger and hotter because women don't want old fat men with money - gross!! We have our own - we pay our own bills - we buy our own clothes .. ya know, the song Independent Women (Beyonce)? That's us. We are beautiful, young - and independent. We want our hot counterparts! So young men, mascara up, make up (LOL), slather on the cream, and Grecian Formula, put on those (male version of)Brazilian jeans and lets see what ya got! Your turn to strut your stuff...

Personally I think that there is a certain natural beauty that comes with age. I think that many of our problems today arise from men that try to look and act like the young warrior as opposed to handing over the torch and assuming the role of an elder with wisdom and grace.

Well first I think the response's that included violence need to address their own sexuality issue's. I think that most people when you say " mascara on a guy?" they tend to think of the only guys they've ever seen wearing it, an over the top drag queen or hookeer. But do all women wear mascara? nope. Do some wear too much? Yep! The thing to remember about make up is that if you can tell it's there then you put on too much. I think a better thing would be for men to keep their eyebrows trimmed than worry if they need mascara.

I agree that men should first, be clean and wear neat, clean updated clothing. Then clip the nose and ear hairs, whiten your teeth, get rid of the tummy bulge, etc. Goes for women too! Get a new hairstyle if necessary, no hair? That's ok! Smile a lot and be interesting to talk to, stay up on the news, latest movies, books, music, etc. Be ready with a cute, clean joke. Ladies love men who make them laugh and feel special. Pay attentiion!

You both just really need to grow up... only men who are insecure with their own sexualities have to use such words. It speaks volumes about how treatened and insignificant you must feel in your own skin. DAMN shame!!
I too would like to see the side by side comparisons, of the before and after. I don't think it would really make you look much younger. The teeth comment was right on the money... bad teeth, bad breath who cares how much your eyes pop out and look more engaging.
Men have woren make-up and adornments over the centuries... this is nothing new. Just think of the cod-pieces they used to display!!
