The British actress refused to accept offers of free plastic surgery and Botox treatments prior to the Academy Awards. Mirren, who won Best Actress for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II, received several service vouchers in a pre-Oscar goodie bag. Instead of cashing in on the free goods, Mirren opted to look her best on Oscar night the natural way with good makeup, a smashing dress and a million dollar smile.

Mirren says, "I'm not fond of all those needles and scalpels. I'll try to get away with make-up, jewelery and a nice frock."
