Closet staple: The bootie

No, not that bootie! I am talking about the shoe, the must-have shoe this coming Fall. If there is one pair of new shoes you buy for the upcoming season let these be the ones. Whether you go for a lace up oxford style bootie or a loafer style bootie; booties are where it's at for Fall. The great thing about an ankle boot, like these, is that you can wear them with virtually anything in your Fall wardrobe. Hide them under a super wide pair of trousers for a nice business casual look or wear them ribbed tights and a skirt. However you choose to wear them they will instantly update your wardrobe for the season.
My personal favorite are the pair pictured by Christian Louboutin. At $770 they may be more than what most people want to spend on shoes, but they have all of the bases covered. The loafer cut makes them okay to wear to the office and the black patent leather allows these shoes to go out with you after hours as well. For a less expensive alternative check out Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B collection and Marc by Marc Jacobs has some great ones as well.
