Stirrup pants are back and I refuse to wear them

seven for all mankind stirrup pantsAs I was innocently flipping through eLuxury's fantastic online guide to Fall fashion, I nearly fell over when I hit the Denim Report. At first I was delighted to see a pair of the hottest jeans for fall, J Brand bell bottoms.

Then I was horrified to see a pair of stirrup pants.

Yes, stirrup pants.

The last time I saw stirrup pants was probably 1988. My mom worked at the Children's Place so I had an endless supply of knit stirrups, but never denim. I hated stirrup pants, too, almost as much as I hated bodysuits (which are also making a comeback). Both stirrup pants and bodysuits were horribly uncomfortable and ridiculous. As I remember it, the sole purpose of stirrup pants was to wear your socks on top of your jeans without the bulk. Does that mean slouch socks are coming back too? Say it ain't so. Say it ain't so!

Some things in fashion are better left dead, never to see the light of day again. The thing that scares me most about these pants, is that the fashion world will push and push a trend until you are forced to follow. I won't follow. No, no ... you can't make me!

Will you wear them?
