StyleFoul: Britney's awful VMAs outfit

All the celebrities turned out for last night's MTV Video Music Awards, and almost everyone looked great. However, the evening's big story was Britney Spears' much-anticipated "come back" performance that opened the show. I can barely find the words to describe this unfortunate spectacle. The world may never know why Britney chose to wear that glittery bikini -- even though her publicist, manger, and costumer almost certainly pleaded with her not to. Maybe it was because she's taped the heavily airbrushed photos for her new perfume ads over all of her mirrors, and has no idea what she really looks like -- or, more likely, she was trying to distract everyone from the fact that she's incapable of lip syncing to her own music.
Either way, I think Sarah Silverman said it best in her introductory remarks, that immediately followed Britney's disastrous appearance: "She is amazing. I mean, she is 25 years old and she's already accomplished everything she's going to accomplish in her life."

i hated her when she was popular. now that that she is a joke, i feel bad for her. she is trying so hard not to be a trainwreck, but it looks unavoidable.
i personally think she look pretty good for having 2 kids back to back. but a glittery bikini is just not appropriate for her. there are ways to show off your physical beauty with a little more class.
did you notice one of her fake nails is missing? In the photo posted, look at her ring finger. There is a better closeup at Perez Hilton.

I've never liked Brittany, but I felt really sorry for her and that sad sad performance. She looked so strungout and unfocused, I wonder if she really was onstage in front of a live audience or if they taped her earlier. It was such a trainwreck that it was really painful for me to watch. I hope that someone can help that poor soul soon. Unfortunately I think that she'll end up dead of an overdose at some point very soon.

I think she looks really good for havin 2 kids. I got stretch marks and I only have one and I'm only 21. But the prefromance was soo bad I was pissed I wasted my time to watch it. And the outfit was not flattering. Lik the first person said there are other ways to show off your physical beauty in a classy way. I do it all the time. I think she just needs to hide away for awhile.

Let's all take some advice from Dave Grohl...when he was interviewed about Britney's performance, he said "So this is Britney Spears...there she is...this is her big comeback. So f*ckin what?! Go get a Zeppelin record or something."

I really hope that after all this she decides to just give it up already!! she's no longer attractive, her freshly died roots to match her weave were rediculous, her outfit was rediculous, the song is a computerized version of her voice which she'll never perform live anyways because she HAS ALWAYS BEEN A LIP SYNCER w/ BAD TIMING!!! she used to at least be a good dancer.... she looked completely out of it... like she took a few too many xanex before coming on stage! it was BAD! maybe after all this much needed criticism she'll OD on something 'unexpectedly' like the late Anna Nichole? naw.... i dont think we'd all be that lucky!!

i think britney is freakin gorgeous and she looked good up there. she had a bad performance but i think she will make a comeback. and i cant wait for her new album in november.

I'm not no real Britney fan but i was actually hoping her performance was going to be something to remember in a good way. Unfoutunately it wasn't she should've choose a different outfit she should've had more energy I could go on forever but the only real thing i can say is that maybe she should just give up I hate to see people embarassed like that and that performance was very embarassing.

She is very fortunate to have an upper part that accentuates her overall body, but she looks a little husky on the lower end. If she lost weight, I'm sure she'd be just fine. I do wonder if she cares or is happy with her look in not being beauty pagent perfect?

You all really need to get a life and stop hating on Brittany. Have you been through what she has? Because if you had then maybe you should be one to comment. She has had 2 kids recently. Now I think her body is amazing, even if maybe she hadn't even had 2 kids. About the performance. Get over it. Why don't you go out there and perform in front of millions of people. Would you even be able to? I don't think she should have been the opening act in the first place because that is a huge performance. People expected so much from her performance and what happened, whas it not all you expected? Put yourself in her shoes. Go through what she goes through. You'd probably have a melt down yourself. I don't even personnally care about Brittney Spears but common give the girl a break. Stop criticizing the performer enjoy watching someone do something you would never be able to do. Get over it. Stop being so jealous that she has something you don't. FAME. Maybe if everyone stopped cracking crap about her she would feel better about herself and be able to get back on top like she was before everything happened.

We all know the facts of this case. Britney sucks. We get it. America gets it. We've all moved on from this point. I was disappointed with people bashing who actually believed the whole "Sarah Silverman's rehearsed monologue threw her off." Um. Sarah has been doing comedy for a damn long time. Rehearsing your material out loud, when the punchline of the joke is walking around?
...Are you serious?
Britney's "I can do whatever I want because I'm a celebrity" attitude and own mental problems messed her up. Sarah was paid to do a job. It was funny. Britney was paid more to do a job. It was atrocious.
She was crying backstage because maybe she realized:
"Hm...I just screwed up the biggest 'concert' of my life. Maybe I AM a washed up, non-lip syncing hag. Maybe I can't sing and the public bought me for my figure in the 90's. Maybe my babies were mistakes because I was too drunk to remember. I should probably quit this business and save my 'fans' and children the embarrassment of future appearances.
Go hide under a rock for the rest of time Britney. Or better yet, Have Criss Angel make you disappear.

Regarding naenae8605, I think it is completely horrible you think that just because poor Britney is going in a downward spiral she deserves to die. You are just sick. I understand that Britney's performance was less than spectacular, but really, why is everyone coming down so hard on the girl? I mean, she's a 25 year old CHILD, really. She has made some very publicized mistakes, but haven't we all done something stupid we shouldn't have? Just because Britney did it in front of the whole world there is something wrongn with her? Ok look i have always liked Britney and yes shes done some things to reject but so does everyone else. The comments are so harsh, like seriously give her a break, she just had two kids and you say "oh she so fat, eww you can see the blobber", like seriously get over yourselfs, just because shes pretty and got over her obsticales dont be so jealous that you have to judge her. And yea she has money so her outfit was perfectly fine so get over it!! Its not like you can buy an outfit like that so deal with it and let her start over again and pursude her career as a star because that is exactly what she is no matter what you people say! She is starting great so go for it Britney you can do it.
