My god. I used to like Uggs when I was younger yet now I hate them with a passion. ALMOST EVERY SINGLE PERSON wears them. I go out in town and OH! LOOK! Uggs! At first they were unique and cute yet now they're just another mass over-rated style that every young teen girl must have to be "popular". I just got a new pair of boots and they're very unique. Every time I go out I get so many compliments on them. So c'mon people you can be different and extremely fashion forward at the same time.
As for these Uggs...yuck. YUCK! I love the color pink and I love feathers yet NOT on a pair of boots. What if it was raining or snowing? Those feathers would be dead and pink shows everything. God nononono.

Since when do babies run around in the rain and snow?
Caroline 12-18-2007 @ 2:00PM
While although I do agree that these boots are not something that I would ever wear, I disagree with the statement that they are an item that 'every young teen girl must have to be popular.' They are not always worn for their look, they are worn for their incomparable comfort. While although some may consider them to be completely repulsive, I would like you to find a shoe that is more comfortable than Uggs are.

Perhaps some adults may wear them for comfort, but teens and younger people in general are known to forego comfort for the sake of fashion. In this case, the vast majority of teen girls wear them because it's the "in" thing to wear. They want to be popular and blend in with the crowd, so therefore they buy uggs. There are plenty of shoes that are comfortable but no teen would dare wear them (i.e. grandma's walking shoes). If these weren't so popular and worn by celebs, I highly doubt many teens would wear them, given how un-stylish and overpriced they are.

Dansko shoes are great and actually have some arch support! They are also expensive, but worth every $$$.

My friend in my first period has uggs. When we're sitting on the ground, I lay on her feet because they make good pillows :D

you dont have to get the pink uggs, but uggs are very cutee!
i just got a pair, and instead of being mocked by everyone, i get complients. everyone wants them, so speak for yourself. i say get them!

Yeah and the only reason anyone wants them is because they are the popular thing to wear. Do you seriously think anyone would call them cute if they weren't so popular? Like if you saw only one person wearing them, I highly doubt anyone would want them. If something is popular, people think it's cute no matter ugly they really are. Celebs started wearing them, a bunch of people followed them, then everyone else bought them so they weren't left out of the trend.
Tina 12-18-2007 @ 5:36PM
I COMPLETELY agree with the comment that "every girl believes they need it to be popular" Because ive seen identical ones at Payless, Bob's, JCPenny, and you dont see anyone wearing those..you only see Uggs.

I love uggs actually,
they are cute and amazingly comfortable. if they were so ugly, people wouldent be wearing them all the time and companies wouldent be copying them. People dont wear them to be "popular" they wear them to be "comfortable" easy, cute, and comfy the perfect things to just slip on. They defiantly beat any other boots, id rather wear uggs then the boots i see some people wearing like fur boots. I must say, they look much classier than roadkill wrapped around my feet.

ummm...hate to burst your bubble... but UGGS are made of sheepskin... the tanned side is face out and the fur is turned in...hence the wool you put you feet on. They are every bit the roadkill any mink coat is. Wake up.
meganb 12-21-2007 @ 1:16AM
There is no 'e' in wouldn't! There is not even an 'e' in would not, so where do you get the notion that it suddenly appears?
Defiantly? You misspelled a word into a completely different one. Definitely, unless you mean they "defiantly beat them" in the sense that they beat them rebelliously? And finally, Uggs structure/design is so horrendous that I could never shame the word classy by describing a pair of those "fashion boots" as such. Trendy yes, classy, never. Classy can withstand time, Chanel is a perfect example, whereas some things (Uggs) simply do not stand up to the challenge. Here today, gone tomorrow.
Bob 12-18-2007 @ 5:55PM
Contrary to popular beliefs Uggs are ugly, not cute. Coming from a guys perspective and what all his friends and any other guy he's met...says that they are ridiculous and quietly make fun of woman who wear them. Ladies trust me, I have yet to talk to a guy that hasn't made fun of them...unless they're gay and we all know that opinion does not count.

Usually the gay opinion counts a lot. I'm surprised to hear that you think it doesn't count. Gay men are known for their eye for fashion and most desirable young women have a "gay boyfriend" around for tips.
PS Most gay guys I know think Uggs are obnoxious and not fashionable. Although, I must admit they are very comfortable, functional, and convenient.
Jane 12-20-2007 @ 10:13PM
Although I don't like uggs, I don't think women should re-arrange their lives to wear and do whatever men expect of them.
liza 12-18-2007 @ 7:45PM
Uggs are warm, and cozy. yes, those uggs r weird, but if u took all the stupid feathers off them then they're fine. plz, boots don't make u "popular" or a "loser" and i only have 1 thing 2 say 2 kyle... wtf??? are ppl catorgorized by their boots at your school?? how old are you anyway? because at my high school, ppl wear what they want really, i mean there are trends and stuff and ugg boots are popular, but that's because girls at my school want 2 b comfy. uggs are uggs, and its winter, so get over it.

I don't like Uggs. Sure, they're comfortable. But they're incredibly plain and tasteless. Comfortable boots are easily found under $50. Uggs aren't showy at all. It's true that most girls buy them to fit in. To be honest, they're not all that great. They keep you warm, but they don't keep water out. They're not useful for walking in the snow, which is what boots were created for. Then again, this is the 21st century where everyone is willing to wear the most useless items just to look "good".

And besides, it IS winter after all. There's snow, sleet, water, and mud everywhere. How are you supposed to go about wearing them when they get ruined so easily? I'd hate having to wash them every time I wore them out. What a waste of a hundred bucks.

Uggs - I used to hate them, now I love them. I think they have that timeless, classic and basic look. Even, dare I say it, sexy. Then again, I hate heels, sandals and "Stylish" shoes. My wife says they are comfortable and I may pick up a pair next year.
Then again, I'm a guy and know what I like in a woman.
