How to look like you stink 101: Taught by Colin Farrel and associates

Do you ever see someone and you're just sure her or she would stink? Well, there are a number of celebrities who have perfected the art of making us wrinkle our noses through the movie screen despite their inherent hotness. And seriously, that takes effort.

Here are five celebrities who make me want to plug my nose and light a scented candle. I guess poor hygiene in Hollywood isn't necessarily a bonus to one's career. Oh, and let me know if I miss anybody -- if I need to bring air freshener with me to the movies, I want to be prepared.

Stinky Celebs (you've gotta love them)

  • Colin Farrell
  • Matthew McConaughey
  • Amy Winehouse
  • Courtney Love
  • Johnny Depp
  • Colin Farrell: To look as stinky as Colin Farrell, one would need to a) not wash his hair for at least three weeks, b) surround himself with a cloud of cigarette smoke for a few days without changing clothes, and c) wear clothes he found in his neighbor's trash, hoping against hope for a nasty wool cap, because the only thing grosser than completely greasy hair is a smelly wool cap of questionable origin.

  • Matthew McConaughey: It might be because I know for a fact that the man eschews deodorant and cologne, but every time I see him, I swear I can smell him. Now, he's gorgeous enough that I might be able to clothespin my nose shut and get it on with him on with business, but it probably depends how recently he went jogging. And whether I had a cold and couldn't breathe through my nose, because that would help.

  • Amy Winehouse: Part of the problem with her is the hair -- I wouldn't be surprised to find small animals living in there. But, she's often so out of it that I can't imagine she bothered to pick up clean(ish) undies from the bathroom floor, and I don't even want to know when the last time she showered was.

  • Courtney Love: I know, she helped make "grunge" a movement, but enough already. She currently looks like she hasn't showered since 2006, at which point she actually made an effort for a minute or two. The crazy on her face doesn't help, either.

  • Johnny Depp: Can you imagine how much he LOVED being in Pirates of the Caribbean? When his role required him to look dirty and squicky? Yeah, he's an artistic genius; whatever. Washing up for the red carpet is still suggested.
