How many of you own a slip? We're not talking about a slip dress -- we mean a real, actual slip that is worn under a dress, and, theoretically, not seen at all. Now, if you own one, do you wear it?

This question was asked over at Friday Style, and the answers were interesting. Not surprisingly, there seems to be a generation gap -- apparently some grandmothers were simply aghast that their little ones weren't wearing slips with their dresses this Easter, while the younger set was amazed that anyone still wore slips.

Do you still wear a slip under your dress?

The general consensus seemed to be that most women, if they even own a slip, only wear it when absolutely necessary (like when their dress is otherwise see-through in front of a window), and even then, it's generally a half slip or Spanx. There was also quite a bit of discussion over the lack of quality slips readily available, though from the sound of it, we doubt that quality is really the issue.

What do you think? Have slips given way to Spanx? Or do you just refrain from wearing anything extra under your dress?
