Fourteen year-old model Jak uninvited to Aussie catwalk party

Filed under: Runway Trends, Celebrities with Style

Life is so unfair when you're fourteen. Just when you think you're going to be a world famous model, and get loads of attention and money, everyone has to go and ruin it.

The lovely, and young, model Monika Jagaciak, aka "Jak" was removed from the roster of Rosemont Australian Fashion Week after an international uproar over her age.

Although Jak's parents are just fine with this early start to her modeling career, Australian Vogue refused to feature her on the cover because she is so young.

The decision set off a series of stories in the press, including here, ironically fueling interest in her and guaranteeing her inevitable fame.

From now on RAFW will require all models, male and female, be 16 or older. We're sure Jak will be using her time not on the catwalk doing something useful, like packing her bag to go on all the jobs that her non-appearance generated.

Now that she's famous, will the editors be able to hold off until her 16th birthday? Somehow, we think it just might be a littler sooner. Like, if we were bettin' folk, and had an office pool, we'd pick next week. With a back up bet on the week after.
