When it comes to Sean Combs, we're usually big fans. We like the goatee, the fashion line, and his classy, clean-cut personal style. Still, the look he chose for his red carpet arrival at the premiere of Iron Man seems a little off -- like maybe he's trying a little too hard.

The white suit jacket is a good look for Sean, but for the red carpet it seems a little bit too flashy -- especially with the black silk shirt underneath. It looks a little more like a costume than a casually-worn, comfortable evening suit.

The aviators fit in with the costume style of the rest of his outfit -- but they are also what put this ensemble over the line. Usually, P. Diddy racks up points with his subtle style choices, but there's little chance for that with the black and white look.

If you're going to wear sunglasses on the red carpet, you've got to strike some GQ poses, and of course Sean delivers. He gets props for that.
