Giorgio Armani receives Couture Council Award for Global Fashion Leadership
Filed under: Style in the News
Giorgio Armani is hot stuff in fashion right now. Well, he's always been hot stuff, that's nothing new. So it's no surprise that when it came time to name the first ever FIT Couture Council Award for Global Fashion Leadership, he was an obvious choice. This has been a big week for Giorgio in N.Y.C. Of course, he attended the event of the year, the Costume Institute Gala on Monday night. That same day he also made his first personal appearance at Saks Fifth Avenue in 7 years. Because of this huge honor bestowed upon them, Saks returned the favor and dedicated 31 store windows to him. They bear his logo, some extending over 30 feet long!
Then on Tuesday he attended the FIT luncheon to receive his award. Giorgio did an intimate Q&A with lucky students, moderated by Valerie Steele, director and chief curator of the museum at FIT. Click through the gallery to see pictures of the event.
