We simultaneously love and hate Rihanna's Balenciaga, ummm...boots?



Reasons to love them:

• Because they're fierce and Rihanna is fierce in them.
• Because wearing Balenciaga is never boring.
• Because they remind us of the movie 300. Rihanna looks like she's auditioning to be an extra in the gladiator style film.

Reasons to hate them:

• We don't even want to think about the hideous knock offs that will stem from this look.
• We also don't want to think about regular women trying to pull this look off in every day life. It just can't be done.
• They remind us of our AYSO soccer playing days -- "Don't forget your shinguards, kiddies!" It's not that we didn't love kicking a ball around with our equally athletically challenged peers. It's just that fashion should never remind us of stinky, sweaty sports equipment.

Jennifer Connelly rocked similar boots in her campaign for the brand. She also donned the ankle high version on the red carpet back in October. So what do you think, who owns this look -- Jennifer or Rihanna?
