Gola means goals: Score some with your feet

Gola brand shoes have been popular in the United Kingdom for over one hundred years. Yes, 100 years. Anything that can stay in style that long has got to have something going for it.

It is believed that the name is Gola is an anagram of 'goal,' which led to their first ad campaign "Gola means Goals" which you may have noticed sitting totally stolen in homage atop this post (followed by some lame attempt at a football tie-in, but what do we know, we call it soccer).

The shoes have evolved and lines have been created for sports other than football, like cricket, rugby, and tennis. They also have sandals and shoes for children. When you've been around as long as they have you tend to try new things, otherwise you find yourself a century old, stale and slightly bitter, not unlike our mother-in-law (give or take a few years).

Currently Gola is featuring the 40th anniversary of the classic Harrier, their oldest trainer, by going retro (and authentic). The results, for lack of a better word, are brilliant.

Take a look at their shoes- sport, dress and casual. We think you'll agree.
