Tell us a little about yourself and your work. Snoozer Loser NY was created in 2005, as a small project based around a love for textiles, apparel, prints and all things fun, strange and beautiful.

How did you get started as a designer? I've always been interested in running my own creative clothing label since I was a teen. I decided to get my degree in Fashion Design at Parsons and studied in Paris taking additional courses in Textile Arts.

Any advice you would give to aspiring designers? Trust yourself, have fun, make ethical choices in whatever you do.

What inspires your work? It varies each season. Lately... The Grateful Dead album art. Interior Design Shops in New England. Vintage Wallpaper (especially from the 50's). My mother's closet. Mineral and Crystal stores. The street vendors near my apt in Chinatown, Manhattan. Every summer I uproot my studio and work at an awesome art camp in the Berkshires, where I gather inspiration and design most of my collection.

Who are your favorite designers? Growing up I was really inspired by multi-talented creatives like Kim Gordon who started a small label called X-girl in the 90's. I used to visit her shop on Lafayette St when I was 14. I also loved Sofia Coppola's clothing label MilkFed, and artist Susan Cianciolo. I've always been attracted to artists and designers that do more than one thing and take risks in their career.

What are your top fashion & beauty must-haves? Since I'm in the mountains this summer, Burts Bees Herbal Insect Repellent. It smells yummy and keeps the bugs away! Lemongrass Sugar Scrub from Bittersweets NY, Lavender Oil, Temporary Tattoos you get for a quarter at the grocery store and Nail Art in very bright colors is always a must!

Where can people find your work? We are carried in a number of selected stores throughout the country. You can gain access to our shop that carries our full collection at www.snoozerloser.com. And find a list of our retailers there!
