Jessica Simpson entering a dress deal
Filed under: Style in the News, Clothing, Dresses, Celebrities with Style

Yes indeed, folks, it's another celebrity designer -- Jessica Simpson has entered into a deal to begin a line of contemporary dresses under the Jessica Simpson label. We can plan to see the first items next spring, but the full collection won't be out until Fall 2009.
The details of the dress line are still being worked out, so we don't know exactly what the prices will be. However, the dresses will be a contemporary style at a young contemporary price point, sold at better department stores and specialty stores nationwide, and meant to complement to the other collections under the singer's name -- she currently has footwear, swimwear, handbags, eyewear, outerwear, and jewelry stamped with her name. And don't tell anyone, but we kind of love some of her shoes. Shhhh.
The coming year will be busy for Tony Romo's number one fan, as Jessica also has a new fragrance coming out -- Jessica Simpson Fancy. We don't know about you, but we're thinking that, since she's a country singer now, maybe Fancy isn't the best choice of name. Doesn't anybody know the Reba McEntire song? "Here's your one chance Fancy, don't let me down ..."

I had the same thought about the perfume! Any country music fan would know that song about a prostitute. Probably not the smartest name choice for your new perfume when you hope to be accepted in country music. Probably not too smart to put a bottle of it in your country music video either!!!
