The Riviera's topless sunbathers are covering up

If you visit the beaches of St. Tropez this summer expecting to find a magical place where women feel totally comfortable baring their breasts in public, you might be disappointed. According to an article in the UK Telegraph, the glorious tradition of Brigitte Bardot is on the decline. Apparently, bare flesh isn't as fashionable in the south of France as has been in the last few decades -- and no one's quite sure why.When we think of the Riviera, of course we think of picturesque resort communities, but only after we envision beaches teeming with topless movie stars. Take away the topless women -- and it's just another über-expensive place to get a sunburn. Some are chalking it up to cancer concerns, others blame a rising wave of prudish conservatism. We know that in the US, nudist colonies are having trouble attracting members from the younger generations.
We say: if there's anything that never goes out of fashion, it's topless ladies.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that the press, paparazzi, and bozos with camera phones have taken away privacy and splashed it on the internet and tabloids.
People used to enjoy the historic nude beaches because it was no big deal sharing the beach and experience with other like-minded, culturally diverse people. However, today anyone's provacy can easily be taken away, whether on a secluded beach, locker room, dorm room, or frat house.
It's amazing how a few people once again can ruin an innocent, peaceful situation for others.

Has anyone begun to correlate the possible enormous influx of radical religious groups into France with possible cultural changes? In some of those groups, a woman's face or her arms are apparently too obscene to be uncovered. Can you imagine just how obscene they would consider breasts to be? Tsk Tsk.
Goodness knows, the Politically Correct French wouldn't want to offend the ultra-sensitive sensibilities of those minorities, would they?

I've been to NIce and have experienced the views at the beach and roof top hotel pools. It's OK but not the end of the world if it fades away.

U.S. Nudist Colonies have problems getting members partly due the Price, but mainly because of current laws. Most States bar anyone under 18 years old. Most Families can not justify the cost if the entire family can not be involved. Look at old Nudist Publications and you will see a large number of entire families. If the State does allow minors in and the parents take even one Photo of the family including the minors they can be arrested for "Child Porn". Who says this is "The Home of the Free?.

In my opinion its bc women are afraid of having their picture taken. Everyone has cameras in their phones now. I wouldn't want my ta-tas posted all over the internet (or at least have to worry about it).
