Tip of the day: Trend alert! Bobs are back.

Okay so first Katie, then Gwyneth, then Liz, next Hayden and now Eva. Obviously bobs are back in business.

If you want to get gully and go for it, make sure that you know some secrets to ensure your bob is bangin, not bland.

1. Bobs shouldn't have tons of layers. The point of it is the one layered look.

2. Longer bobs are a perfect way to ease into it (see Liv Tyler).

3. If you go long, ask for just a few stacked layers for added depth.

4. For an edgy look, get the ends razored (see Gwyneth Paltrow).

5. Ask to get the back just a smidge shorter than the front. Or go totally angular for a contemporary look.

6. Lop it all off and start over again with fresh, healthy hair (see Katie Holmes).
