Indie Designer Interviews: Flutter Feminine Knit Tops & Jackets

We love all of the amazing independent designers out there. In order to find out more about just what makes all of these creative types tick, we present to you an ongoing segment called Indie Designer Interviews.
We'd like to introduce you to designers Rachel Six and Joleen Rumsey of Flutter LLC. They create feminine knit tops and jackets that are perfect for both work and weekend.
Tell us a little about yourself and your work. Flutter LLC is made up of two talented fashion designers, Rachel Six and Joleen Rumsey. Our work focuses on women's knit tops and jackets. We both have backgrounds in art and sewing. We have always encouraged each other to start a fashion company but neither of us had the inclination to go it alone, thus the birth of Flutter LLC. When Rachel is not sewing she works as an esthetician and Joleen is also in an indie band called the Icicles.
How did you get started as designers? We kind of just dived in, no dipping toes to test the waters for these ladies. Flutter LLC had been incubating for a long time and everything just sort of worked itself out when we decided to take the plunge.
Any advice you would give to aspiring designers? Never stop creating and only work if it's fun and enjoyable.
What inspires your work? old movies, vintage patterns, flowers, everyday women, music, and color.
What are your top fashion & beauty must-haves? Fashion and beauty must haves for Rachel are big earrings and colorful eye shadow. Fashion and beauty must haves for Joleen are funky socks and fancy soap.
