We are slowly starting to come to grips with the fact that summer is going to be over sooner than we'd like. One of the things keeping us going is the warm thought of cozying up to some of fall's best trends. Here are a few of our favorite fall things.
The pencil skirt: Such a timeless classic. This is the one piece we'd spend a pretty penny. It's got "lifetime investment" written all over it. Err; at least that's what we tell our honeys anyway!
LBD's: By one little black dress this fall and it will take you to every dinner party, holiday gathering, work event and night on the town all season long.
Secretary blouse: You know the one – big fancy bow, puffy sleeves. Sort of has the attitude of a buttoned up shirt but a little bit looser and more fun.
Pastels: Oddly yes! These feminine hues aren't just for spring anymore. Carry your best pastels straight into winter by way of layers. Add a double whammy with a floral print.
A satchel: A satchel is the quintessential carry all day bag with tons of nooks and crannies for all your extra crap. Come on, everybody's doing it!
Curves: Designers are adding a little extra pushin for the cushion so to speak. And if you already have it without the padding, even better!
Country/Western: Plaids. Tweeds. Boots. Ruffles. This sounds to us like a Ralph Lauren runway show or... an episode of Little House on the Prairie. Take inspiration from both and run with it!
Extra long: Skirts, jackets, vests, dresses, tops – all were given a few extra inches, or feet for that matter. Think Jane Fonda in long, soft cardigans circa 1970 or Jane Fonda circa 2007 in a long, soft maxi dress at Cannes.
Minimalism: Does figuring out how to accessory everyday freak you out? You are perfect for this trend! Simply pick a top, bottom, and shoe – no accessories necessary.
