Anyone who's been to a bridal shower has probably made at least one wedding dress or veil out of toilet paper. It's a surprisingly difficult material to work with, but in the hands of professionals, the results can be surprisingly pretty!


For the fifth year running, Cashmere, the leading brand of Canadian toilet paper, is the sponsor of a fashion show of couture dresses made completely out of toilet paper: the BT Couture collection.

And to make it even better, as part of the campaign around the fashion show, Cashmere will donate 25 cents from the sale of every package to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

The eight Canadian designers who created the BT Couture collection included: Arthur Mendonça, David Dixon, Joeffer Caoc, Evan Biddell, winner of Project Runway Canada, Joyce Gunhouse and Judy Cornish for Comrags, Lucian Matis, Thien Le and Ula Zukowska.

The show was preserved for posterity by noted Toronto hair and photo stylist Jason Kearns, who teamed up with photographer Richard Dubois to create some amazing looks that would be right at home on the pages of Vogue.
