Looks like American girls continue to grow. I don't mean fat ...just continue to be "bigger" ...than say 30 years ago. Vitamin D added to milk does work wonders. As for girls with feet bigger than size 11, my guess is that finding shoes would be the least of their problems. Ask at the same "big, bigger, biggest" store you get the rest of your "outfits" at. They must have access to shoes for the "never been petite" big boned.

no matter how big we may get sadly your brain will always be small and continue to shrink daily....

RB, you VERY obviously have no idea what you are talking about when you tell people with large feet to go to the BIG, BIGGER, BIGGEST store, where they get the rest of their clothes. The smallest thing in those stores would be way to big for me! I am 5' 9" tall and wear a size 10-12 in clothes (and a 34A BRA!) However, my shoe size is 11-11 1/2 NARROW. (And I don't have wide calves either--just LONG NARROW feet--and nice legs, like the rest of me!) I actually still have sculpted muscles in my arms (at the age of 61) because I exercise and take care of myself. Most people think I am under 50 because I don't even have a "saggy" bottom! And, I am NOT big-boned! OH, I do shop at the "big, bigger, biggest" stores to find SOCKS because, unfortunately, designers (with brains like yours) apparently think only "BIG" girls have big feet! I get the rest of my clothes right off the racks in the "misses" department. Just because we have big feet does not mean we are "BIG"! Incidentally I feel honored to report to you that Jackie Kennedy had EXACTLY the same size feet I have. I like being tall and thin! However, I don't like having to spend weeks trying to find shoes. But, I am grateful I don't have a pea-sized brain like you do -- spouting off about something you know NOTHING about!

Why are there so many haters out there. I am a big boned (not fat, lazy or stupid woman) who has genetically big calves and size 11 feet. I have a hard time finding shoes and boots to fit.
I am also a single mom of a chubby one year old and do not have the time or bucks to go to a gym. I LOVE working out at home. I have The firm tapes which are okay. As I have a small house I don't have any large pieces of equipment.
I have a jump rope, a work out ball, some free weights.
I wear smartsole insoles that I read about on aol that you put in your sneakers to increase intensity of workout. They are under $30 bucks and tone muscles and are fab-u-lous http://www.smartsole.com The size Medium fits up to a size 11.
I also have an exercise bike that is small and compat that I bought at sears http://www.sears.com Sears home brand for simple exercise bikes are fantastic...cheap and sturdy.
I used to try to do butt clenches while online at the super market to get in extra exercise as I had read that Kate Hudson did that to get back in shape after she had her kid. All I have to say is she must be nuts and supermarket lines are the time to read the trashy mags.

I had a woman teacher who had to be 250 - 300 pounds, 5'1" and she had size 4 feet. She had a hard time finding small, wide shoes. So shoe size does NOT equate with how BIG you are. Tall, slender women have larger feet...it's easier to stand up...imagine a tall woman with tiny feet...it would be like standing on points all the time!

I clicked the link to this article as soon as I saw the title. I am 5'5", 136lbs, and wear a size 4, sometimes 6. My feet are a size 6.5, sometimes 6. But, I have a more muscular build, especially my legs. I can't EVER find a pair of tall boots that fit around my calves! So, NO! It's not just a plus size problem!! I want to know WHO they're making these boots for?? Probably the same 5 women in the world that happen to be 6'5" and 102lbs. that they make all the clothes for too@@ Last year I bought a pair beautiful boots, very popular brand, when they arrived I was shocked that my leg was no where close to fitting in them. What was even more shocking was when I slipped my arm down into them and found that they snuggly fit around my ARM!! I mean, eesh, my leg has to be as small as my ARM to fit into boots?? Thanks for the article. I'm glad someone is addressing this problem! Maybe I'll finally be able to wear a pair of tall boots for once in my life!!

Well, I'm a guy, so I suppose I should just not say anything. BUT, since I'm not doing that... I can vouch for the vast non-proportionates among us. I get my feet from my Dad's mother. She wore a mens size 15. When I was 10, I wore a mens size 10. I wish they stopped there, but they didn't. Luckily, they did stop at size 13 and I myself at 6' 1-1/2". So not so bad, really, nowadays. But boy did I ever take a beating for it growing up! Anyhoo...I joke that I can't find decent shoes for myself, either, and just buy big shoes, throw them away and wear the boxes they came in. Okay, that's no help. Have any of you tried Googling larger size women's shoes yet?

I have actually found a site after searching for years - http://www.WideWidths.com - that has FASHIONABLE boots for wide calves! Not everyone wants to wear Uggs and even large women such as myself want to look sexy and pretty too – especially when you need a nicer style for clothes other than jeans. I am in 7th heaven!
I am also blessed with my Nana's big feet (size 11W) and their boots go up to 13's AND they come in all widths too, not just mediums. They sell the greatest boots for big legs and I just got my THIRD pair of boots with an extra wide calf circumference from them and I have NEVER been able to find a pair of boots before in my entire life! They have nice fashionable styles - all the stuff that the skinny calf women are wearing!
Their customer service department is great too since they answer youe emails within a few hours and they were very nice and helpful when I called for advice on my first pair (which style would be better for me). Every single boot on their site comes only for wide calves so you don’t waste your time looking through sites that claim their boots have big calves only to find out that nothing they have will fit you. I never thought I’d be able to find a pair of boots for my big legs. What a great place to shop - you’ll love their stuff.

Go to http://www.WideWidths.com since they sell the greatest wide calf boots! I just got my third pair of boots from them and I have NEVER EVER NEVER been able to find a pair of boots after years of combing the web, catalogs and shoe stores! They have gorgeous styles - many are even nicer than standard boots! Their customer service department answers all your dumb questions :-) on the phone and they are very helpful. I can't begin to tell you how much time I have wasted looking online at sites that say they have wide calf boots and the boots have 16" or 17" calves. Who are they kidding anyway! All it does is waste your time and get you even more frustrated. I wear a size 11W but I think they also carry from size 6 and up to size 13 if I remember correctly. Good luck!
