Gucci, Cavalli and Bulgari want to help the children

Filed under: Style for a Cause

Roberto Cavalli has charitable intentionsIt's not even Thanksgiving yet and already a trio of designers are getting into the holiday spirit with charitable activities to benefit the children of the world.

First up we have Gucci teaming up with UNICEF for the fourth time, donating 25% of sales of the Tattoo Heart Collection to the international children's advocate. You can find the white leather bags decorated with heart tattoos (yes, it's a very literally named collection) in stores starting November 19th. The campaign will star Rihanna, a vocal advocate for children.

Then Bulgari's foundation announced plans to raise 10 million Euros in 2009 for the Save The Children "Rewrite the Future" campaign. The charitable organization, which celebrates its 125th anniversary, will donate the first million themselves, and also raise funds with special editions of Bulgari jewelry.

And Roberto Cavalli is working with UNESCO to support the 'Education for Children in Need' initiative, which helps children in developing countries get a primary school education. Mr. Cavalli is in good company along with fellow supporters like the Dalai Lama, Bianca Jagger and Helen Mirren.

To think, some people accuse the fashion industry of being shallow!
