I once thought it would be very couture to dress up as a man in a black suit - complete with top hat and black tie. Unfortunately, I was called sir through the entire day.

I wore black leggings, a shear white mini dress, and a black sparkly tank over. I cinched the whole mess with a oversized black belt. My sister told me I looked like a hooker going to a funeral instead of a girl trying to impress a cashier at whole foods.

I tried to dress like Carrie Bradshaw from "Sex and the City"...she can pull off a look like leggins with neon green top and a big flower in your hair..I just got laughed at.

Crinolines rustled their way into my teenage years. They looked attractive of the other girls.

could it be the flashdance look the off the shoulder- the big hair with 5 cans of hairspray..the big belt- the leg warmers or the wonderful look before that of the cowboy up north or the hamill haircut that looked more like a bowl cut

I tried the super striped hair in highschool and thought it looked great- then decided to switch my style to rocker and everything went wrong!

Leg Warmers over jeans in the 1980's in Southern California. It was just silly.

My was attempting to be colorful and wore red pants, a blue and white striped shirt, a green sweater vest and a belt with a large buckle with all the above colors around my waist....it was probably a bit much on its own...but by the time I put on my giraffe print shoes, I think I went a bit overboard.

I was in a play in high school and decided the character would be much more striking with dark hair. So I dyed my strawberry blond hair black - not surprisingly, it turned orange. "Striking" indeed.

Let's just say that it involved a blinking pacifier, and I was 19 at the time.

Back in the day I was brave and decided to get Barbra Striesand ringlet curls....biggest baddest move I ever did.
I had to grow out my frizzy afro for a long time until I had normal blonde hair again.

I once wore a purple skirt and tights with a yellow top and yellow slouch socks. I live in WI and only an hour from MN and all day everyone kept asking if I was a MN Vikings fan.

I saw David's ass - not bad, could have used some contouring. I'd go with 80's glam drag with the eyeliner and foundation for men. How fun to see heterosexual males flirt with their feminine side.

I once paired polka dots with plaid...the colors sort of matched and I thought it would be a fun combination. Long story shot, I thought wrong.

It was in the 80's when Cindy Lauper was big and I was quite young. I had just gotten engaged and my first "meet the inlaws" event was a family wedding. I chose a dark blue and multi colored polka dot sleeveless dress with layers of multi colored crinoline underneath to make the skirt twirl as I wore it with dark blue tights, slouch socks and red granny heeled mid calf lace up boots. (the kind with the cut outs in the feet? Remember those?). I thought I looked hot but after meeting my intended's 76 year old grandmother, she pulled him aside saying; "Is she going to change before the wedding?" He said; "No why?" Reponse; (and I swear this is true); "She's a very pretty girl, but what about her mind? Only the crazy one's dress like that."
Looking back, I deeply feel that anything one did regarding fashion in the 80's didn't count. We must have all lost our minds to buy into such awfulness.
