A Christmas Story With Campfire Shirts
Filed under: Holiday Style, Clothing, Men, Kids and Babies
Campfire Shirts is lucky enough to have been featured within these hallowed pages before. Yes, we're sure they are honored. At that time, however, we failed to mention one of their t-shirt lines, and to be honest it is our favorite. We were just waiting for the right time. How is now for you?Campfire's Holiday Series is "a tribute to the greatest holiday movie of all time," which is a statement we support with all of the gumption we can muster. The movie in question is the classic A Christmas Story. We assume that legal reasons prevent them from mentioning the name, or perhaps they thrill to the thought of mystery and shrouded intrigue. Who knows? Point is, the shirts are fudging awesome (no soap for that one!).
If you love Ovaltine, triple dog dares, and major awards, or if you find yourself on the daydreaming end of a Red Ryder BB gun with a compass in the stock, and this thing which tells time, then these shirts are for you. Just keep in mind, they are fra-gee-lay.
Whit Honea is a slacker, a borderline degenerate, and a daydream believer. He's also our resident expert on casual chic. If it's comfortable, and not heinous, he's all over it. He's quite charming, really.

Times have changed but the feelings have not. It's true Americana. Jean Shepherd captured the spirit perfectly. I'm a HUGE Christmas Story fan; it reminds me so much of my childhood and memories of mom and dad. I've been to Cleveland where they made the movie and Hammond where Shepherd grew up. For a real treat, read author Mark Kiesling's story (with illustrations by Bill Thornbro).
