Blake Lively, in addition to being a Gossip Girl, is also a gorgeous girl. And at 21, it's appropriate for her to risk some kookier fashion choices. The young fashionista succeeds more often than she fails...but here, at the New York premiere of Baz Luhrmann's epic film Australia, she fails.
The whole outfit is kind of meh, more "afternoon tea at the nanny placement office" than red carpet. She even appears to be wearing...support hose of some kind?
The really big problem is the belt. It looks like a shiny ace bandage, wrapped as tightly as possible to keep her mom's lace skirt from falling off. Actually, the way she's grabbing at her side, maybe her back did hurt this night. If so, better to stay home than try to pass off a medical device as high fashion - StyleFoul!
Oh, don't feel bad for Serena. We know she'll look better next time. She always does.
