Rachel Zoe - Oh, No!
Filed under: Style in the News, Celebrities with Style, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes
It's no secret that we're big fans of style maven Rachel Zoe. You can read all about our affection in our reviews of her show, The Rachel Zoe Project. We're delighted that The Rachel Zoe Project has been picked up for another season, but we think she may have fired Taylor or Brad. And we're pretty sure it was whichever one was feeding her.In this red carpet picture from Cracked Xmas 11: A Not So Silent Night Benefiting The Trevor Project, an event which took place on December 7th in Los Angeles, Rachel Zoe looks painfully thin. So thin, that this coming season, when she says "I die!" it won't be cute or funny. You're scaring us, Rachel!
Zoe has been the stylist to many celebrities we saw rapidly disappear: Nicole Richie, Mischa Barton, and Lindsay Lohan, to name a few. She has always denied any association with eating disorders, but is she perhaps totally unaware of them? Does she not see her style proteges (and herself) shrink to skeletal? Does her passion for fashion eclipse her desire for food?
This dramatic weightloss has caused speculations all over tinseltown about her love life, her work life, and her general health. We hope you are okay, Rachel.
Bananas! Eat one. Eat ten. The starving look is so five years ago. Thank god.

WHAT POSSESSES THESE WOMEN TO WEAR A DRESS THAT MAKES THEM LOOK LIKE THE SKELETON THEY ARE. IF SHE DIDN'T HAVE SKIN, THEY WOULD PLACE HER IN A COFFIN. I WISH SHE WOULD READ REMARKS LIKE THIS AND GO EAT A HOT FUDGE SUNDAE BUT OF COURSE SHE WOULD HAVE TO GO TO A EATING DISORDER CLINIC FIRST TO GET HERSELF NOT CURED BUT AT LEAST IN REMISSION. garnella5@aol.com

I can't believe someone tries so hard to look soooo bad. I have always had a weight problem and am no a hater, but I would so rather be 20 pounds overweight than to look like a dried out prune. She is in the public eye and is sending out a bad mesage to young women as she thinks she is a sylte icon.
I strive to eat healthy and lead by example for my daughters. I eat flax every morning for health and weight loss reasons. I have the same breakfast now every day. I recently lost 30 pounds following the sane and normal weight watchers program http://www.weightwatchers.com and I now just
am more watchful every day of what I eat. I have a banana low fat yogurt with golden roasted flax for breakfast every day. It is filling, keeps me regular and tastes fabulous (kinda like sesame seeds). My Weight
Watchers leader recommended fitflax to me and it definitely helped the last 10 pounds to melt off. It is low carb and low cal. It is a flax and chia blend and I
think I read about it in O mag. They also listed a code to get 10% off. The site is http://www.fitflax.com and the code for 10% off is gb10

We, Americans, love beautiful people. We spend a fortune on looking good, clothing, makeup, cars, etc. I can tell you that the easiest and cheapest way to look good is to lose weight. Lookin' good like these celebs is well worth the effort. I lost 47 pounds in 6 weeks using the Rapidthin diet at www.rapidthi n.com. Good luck to all. Use what works for you.

This woman is 36 or 37, but she looks at least 20 years older with that sternum sticking out and her horrible posture. Are we supposed to take fashion and style advice from someone who looks like the Cryptkeeper's long lost twin sister?

That's a picture of what happens from the pressure put on women to be "thin." The same people who would berate her for having a few pounds on her are making fun of her skin and bones look now and will shake their heads when she has dies from anorexia.

Are you freaking kidding me?! Nolobeach takes the opportunity to advertise for some bogus weight loss program on a page dedicated to NOT being a weight loss freak. We Americans do strive to look good (unfortunately motivated by Hollywood) but I promise you there is no cheap and easy way to do it. If you starve yourself, then yes you are saving money by not buying food; but as you can see from above, you WON'T look good!
If you really want to look good; it takes work - a disciplined HEALTHY diet and regular exercise. It is well worth it; not only will you look better, but more important you will FEEL BETTER! More energy, mental clarity, better sleep, the list goes on; even better, with regular exercise you can postpone some of the ill-effects of aging as you grow older. If you put your health first, the rest will fall into place - including the way you look.

Rachel is a very hard worker and has alot of stress. Stress can cause you to lose weight as well. She eats...i've seen it on her show. She also has to contend with the pettiness of her two associates and she lost her favorite uncle this past year. I would think Rachel just needs a vacation/rest and some time to recover. She will gain the weight back.

it's fashion. fashion discriminates. if you're not thin, you're not in.

First of all, stop equating getting too thin with anorexia; they're not identical phenomena. In fact, most anoretics are food obsessives: they know recipes, talk about and play endlessly with food, like to cook and feed others. They usually make big productions out of their own meager meal-takings. Zoe is image-obsessed...and, given her vocation, rightfully so. She can't look bad from any angle....must be 'photographable' from ANY angle in ANY garment. This isn't easy. What she shares with most anoretics, though, is that she's round-faced. Consider, MKOlsen, Tracy Gold, etc. When they look in the mirror -- which like all 2-dimensional reflections makes one look wider -- they feel like they have chubby faces instead of the high-angled sophistication most lauded in our culture. To get their faces chiseled, consider how thin their bodies must get. I'm not saying this is healthy or even reasonable, BUT understand that there are a number of variants to the too-thin person. Still, I'd bet a lot that her weight is NOT merely a product of stress; it's intentional.

I had a friend who looked exactly like that years ago......
when I first met her she had a beautiful body then she
decided to lose weight & get to a size 6, then it was size 2...
After that it was size zero............she
would not listen to a word her mother or friends said....she B-
essed, "I eat"....there was nothing in the fridge & packages
of rice cakes & plenty of black coffee & a small piece of
chocolate every morning........don't know what happened to
her......maybe she disappeared.............
