Most Buzzed-About Mascara
Lancome Oscillation Mascara, $34
When a mascara launches with a waiting list of thousands, it's worth a second look. This one claims to vibrate through lashes 7,000 times per minute with the touch of a button, coating each lash from all sides to create a natural or dramatic effect depending on how many coats you choose to apply.
Lancome
Formerly Illegal Sun Screen
Anthelios 40, $29.50
This suncare line has long been available in Europe (and smuggled to the States by knowing beauty addicts) but in April the FDA approved the active ingredient, Mexoryl SX, for use in the US. It is considered to be the best protection against short UVA rays - and covers exposure to all UVA and UVB rays, the ones that cause sun damage, premature aging, and skin cancer. A must for anyone who spends time outdoors in any season - and doesn't want their skin to show it.
La Roche-Posay
DIY Salon Glazing Treatment
Frederic Fekkai Salon Glaze Sheer Shine Rinse, $28
Inspired by professional glazing services at salons, this silicone-based rinse binds to the hair's cuticle, smoothing it and amping up shine (on natural and color-treated hair), as well as bringing out natural highlights. Women with all hair types are addicted to it because it doesn't get greasy or weigh hair down. The only drawback: It adds a third step in the shower, but the results are definitely worth it.
Frederic Fekkai
Magnetically Charged Brushes
Darac TourQuam Brush, $40
Never worry about applying too much cakey powder again. This hand-cut brush contains a magnet (and all powders have magnetic qualities) so it attracts just the right amount of product and distributes it evenly across your skin. Another plus: It doesn't leave any stray brush hairs sticking to your face. A major beauty problem, solved!
Darac
High Definition Coverage
Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation, $40
Why are celebrities everywhere quaking in their stilettos? High-definition TV shows every flaw. But this oil-free foundation stands up to all kinds of professional and natural lighting (even harsh sunlight), covering flaws without giving a mask-like look thanks to photochromatic pigments that react with ambient light. Also available: HD Primers and Microfinish Powder, which can be worn alone to smooth pores and create a light-reflective, natural-looking face on screen or off.
Make Up For Ever
Lash Maximizer
Peter Thomas Roth Lashes To Die For, $125
Now this is something new under the sun: A nighttime lash conditioner that actually helps your lashes grow longer, thicker, and denser - even filling in holes where lashes have fallen out. A patent-pending, water-based cream formula containing opthamologist-approved hormones and vitamins shows visible results, often within the first week (really - we've tried it!). And, it works on eyebrows too.
Peter Thomas Roth
Shockingly Good Hair
Philip B Katira Hair Masque, $40
The newest mask from hair care guru Philip B contains Katira, a beloved ingredient for hair products in Persia for centuries. It imparts a small electrical charge to hair that leaves it extra bouncy and manageable after a blowout. The weightless, clear gel is applied on wet or dry hair and then left in (overnight if possible). No shampoo is necessary, just a light rinse and hair is softer and holds a style with ease. It's addictive.
Philip B
At-Home LED Treatments
TändaRegenerate Anti-Aging Starter Kit , $275
It's no longer necessary to spend hours and hundreds of dollars on LED (light emitting diode) treatments for acne and signs of aging; the FDA has approved these at-home kits (the red light is to address fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and sagging, and the blue attachment to prevent and control acne). They're proven effective, don't hurt, and help the two most annoying skin problems-at home. We think this is the future of beauty.
Tända
Mistake-Proof Self Tanning
Mystic Tan Perfect Tan Kit For Body, $54
They can make you look rested and younger or like a circus clown with a sunburn; self-tanners have, up until now, been a beauty gamble. Mystic Tan (the company that created the non-UV-exposing stand-up misting booth that all celebrities are addicted to, especially before a red-carpet events) offers an at-home line that includes a pre-moisturizer to hydrate skin to guarantee smooth, even color application, and a bottle of spray tan that banishes streaks and tell-tale orange palms because there's no need to rub it in. It also covers hard to reach areas because it can be sprayed from any angle, including upside down. We approve!
Mystic Tan
Breakthrough Anti-Aging Protein
Avon ANEW Ultimate Elixer Premium, $59
We love it when science and skincare intersect. Harvard has studied sirtuins, proteins that guard cells and are present in youthful skin. We lose these proteins with age, so skin cells are exposed to damage, especially in times of stress. Ultimate Elixer, says Avon, stimulates the production of sirtuin. And clinical studies have shown that it has a lifting effect on cheeks and jaw lines, reduces sagging and wrinkles, and lightens age spots. Bring it on!

For years the only sun-protective clothing products available were made from synthetic materials such as nylon and polyester (made from petroleum). Those products are hot to wear in the summer heat, not very stylish and are expensive.
Now available are top-UV rated 100% cotton t-shirts that are soft, comfortable, breathable and affordable. They come in 6 styles (short and long-sleeve), 30+ colors and in sizes from XS to 6 XL and range in price from $11.95 to $17.95. These shirts are tested and certified according to US standards by the International UV Testing Laboratories (www.uvtesting.org).

There are really great products listed, but I can't believe that not one of Arbonne's incredible products made the list!! The lash enhancer sold by Arbonne regenerates lash and eyebrow growth and it's one-third of the price of the products shown. They mascara is also about half the price and it is incredible. Arbonne is a vegan company that sells products that do not contain mineral oils..all products are botanically based and are pure, safe and beneficial. I would be happy to send a sample of the products to anyone who sends me a message. Check it out at www.lindasangel.myarbonne.com The products will change your skin, the opportunity will change your life. A happy and healthy 2009 to all!

I usually don't buy anything different to try, since my skin is so sensitive. I have bought things before, and was unable to use it, and was just out of pocket, because most stores won't take make-up back once its opened. So, I really hesitate to try anything different.Even if they say ;money back----sure, have you ever tried to get your money back?

I have heard of Arbonne, but never knew of anyone that sold it here, or knew much about it. I'd love to have some samples, especially a moisturizer that targets wrinkles and eye cream. I have very sensitive skin prone to break out. It's hard to fight wrinkles and dry patches at the same time.

I've heard of Arbonne; but have you heard of a great way to promote it? Check out http://www.SendWarmth.com
It could explode your business and improve all of your relationships - both personal and business!

I would love to try some free samples to see if I would buy.

I've been using Lancome products for over 20 years and once was one of their sales reps. The vibrating mascara from Lancome is a waste of money. It clumps up your lashes and is a pain to use, doesn't look good at all, even following the directions of not using short strokes, it doesn't disperse the color evenly or naturally. It's hard to remove and ends up in crumbs under your eyes if you sleep in it. Contrary to their reputation for great mascaras in the past, this one is a real loser.

I agree with you 100%. The Lancome mascara is nothing but hype. Want thicker, fuller looking lashes? Go to Sephora and buy Cargo Blu-Ray mascara, Urban Decay Big Fatty or Big Tease by Bare Escentuals for those with sensitive eyes.

Try Estee Lauders Turbo Lash, the worlds first battery operated mascara, Lancome tried to copy them and it launched theres without much thought. Estee Lauders mascara, you dont have to hold down a button for it to work, you just open the cap and it vibrates. it lengthens, volumizes, and curls, and best of all, you can reapply it later in the day over the dry coat and it doesnt clump! love it!!!

It would be nice if most of the products could be considered affordable. The only one I consider affordable doesn't sell any makeup dark enough for my gold, African-American complexion let alone my beautiful darker sisters, so I don't buy Almay. You guys seem to forget we're in the worse recession since the Depression of the 1930s!

What's your skin type, Tinu? I'm a bit of a make up junkie and I might be of some service. True, you won't find any good foundations that will compliment a lovely almond, caramel or mahogany skin color at Wal-mart but MAC, isn't too far out of price range. If you are drier skin, MAC is great to use and will last a long time as well. Look at it this way, it may cost $25 for foundation but if you only have to use a little bit that $25 bottle of foundation can last you up to 4-6 months. Which isn't bad. For oilier skins of color, MAC isn't a good option. The oil free formula has too much silicone and will eventually cause shine or break down (dry skin- obviously doesn't have an issue like that). Nars powder foundation $45 will last 4-6 months, Cargo oil free foundation (my best friend swears by this, it flatters her mocha complection perfectly) will last 6 months about $35 or my new favorite Make Up Forever Powder foundation $35 will last 5 months (or at least mine did, wearing it 6 days a week until I completely killed the package). If you're going to splurge on something, splurge on your skin care, foundation, blush, mascara and concealer. Eye shadows, lips sticks, lip glosses and pencils- all have relatively workable formulas you can get from the drugstore. Seriously though, try the foundation- you're going to love it! I hope I helped.

Before you put that mascara on your eyelashes, PLEASE do some research. First of all, in most OTHER countries, major name brands have been found to be marketing products that are not only toxic but deceptive in their marketing.
ARBONNE...is PASBONNE! Look up ingredients on the SKIN DEEP data base, NAME BRANDS are toxic and contain cancer-linked ingredients. Take the risk if you need to. Estee Lauder has toxic chemicals in their products but if you have a need to believe the product is safe, it is your decision.
Can you read the ingredients contained in the products?
IF you can, check them out on the SKIN DEEP data base.
The multi-BILLION dollar cosmetic-ceuticals are hoping our need for beauty will outweigh our intelligence. We all have choices, so at least check out the ingredients.
Women get cancer for a reason...we put alot of synthetic, toxic cancer-linked products on our skin.
Unil I ended up at a cancer research hospital and spoke to an oncology nurse, I was ignorant to what the risk was to me, my children and MY PETS.
Safer products may cost more, but why pay with your life?
RESEARCH EVERY INGREDIENT YOU CAN! Your life may depend on it!

"bed head" shampoo it's sulfate free, which wont dry out your hair. Sulfate is usually found in most shampoos, even the most expensive ones...also "JASON" ORGANIC products are GREAT! and "ici" & "hair so shine" hair serum with NO ALCOHOL...seriously many products nicely promoted to enhance your beauty can secretly just be doing something else...WHY IF IS HAIR SHINE WILL THEY POSSIBLY ADD ALCOHOL...WONT THAT JUST DRY UR HAIR MORE...my suggestion is for you shopper to do your homework. lol =) ;)
