Boulder Yoga Mat Company

Filed under: Style for a Cause, Green Fashion

boulder mat companyThe Boulder Mat Company was founded by Amber Kastenschmidt who was motivated to share her love of yoga by creating beautiful, inspiring yoga mats. She also wanted to make sure that they were produced in an environmentally responsible way, and that the company was able to give back to the community.

Today the company offers five designs on mats that are heavy metal and phthalate free. For orders of 75 or more mats, they will also create a custom design on the mat, which would make the perfect souvenir of a special yoga retreat.

The Boulder Mat Company also runs a community outreach program called Renew and Recycle. You can send in your (gently) used yoga mat, and they refurbish it then donate it to yoga programs in jails, schools and shelters. You get good karma points, plus a $5 credit toward your next purchase!
