The Younger Skin Diet - Week 1

Filed under: Skin Care, Product Reviews

DietAnd I'm off! Today is the official kick off of my "7 Weeks to Younger Skin Diet" with Rose Cole. Not that I need younger skin at 25 but I do need to lay off the retinol and maybe loose a few of those winter blues lbs before spring skirt time rolls around.

I'm excited to share my progress with all of you! So be sure to come back each Monday to follow my weekly progress, get special tips straight from nutritional councilor and skin guru Rose Cole, and check out scary I-just-rolled-out-of-bed pics of yours truly (I'm putting myself out there for you people!). Let's start with some of the fun stuff I learned in Week 1 of the program.

The first week was all about "Setting the Foundation." And, as you can see from my tired, bloated face -- which saw a lot of food and fun but little sleep over the New Year's weekend -- I could use the fresh start! Though Rose recommends doing a 31 day cleanse, I decided to go with the 10 day internal bath and 21 day sugar detox/food intolerance cleanse. But, since it is the first day, I do not have much to report. So here are ways you can set your foundation to clear, beautiful, plump skin.

1. Watch videos on "How to Cleanse" your face the right way on Acne.org.

2. Purge your cabinets of fancy creams and lotions and start using something light weight and botanical based for sensitive skin. (I tossed my Neutrogena Visibly Even line and ProActiv for Alba Botanica Aloe & Green Tea Oil-Free Moisturizer. Yes, that's really all I'm using right now -- AM and PM!)

3. Cut out the 7 "aging culprits." (We're sure you can guess what they are but if you want to know exactly, you'll have to ask Rose yourself. We can't give away all of her secrets!)

Next up, "Removing Toxins That Cause Dull Skin." Stay tuned to see how the cleanses are going, see visible changes in my skin, and any other juicy details like weight lost and more tips from Rose.
