Ashley Tisdale and Her Not So Hot Pockets

Holy distraction!

Okay, ladies, we've got to issue a statement on this exposed-pocket trend, and Ashley Tisdale is just going to have to be the sartorial martyr.

The High School Musical star rocked a pair of denim cutoffs -- a summer style staple -- this weekend while performing at The Grove in Los Angeles. And even as micro as those shorts were, her look would've been perfectly fine if it weren't for the unfortunate flashing of those bright white pockets.

Christina Ricci and Her Nipples - Intentional or Wardrobe Malfunction?

Christina Ricci made quite an impression at the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival's Opening Night Gala yesterday.

Her dress was pretty, and she looked great in general, but it was a little difficult to get past the, um, wardrobe malfunction going on up top.

Was it intentional? A lightweight dress, flashbulbs, and no bra on a Los Angeles red carpet is a recipe for nipple distraction. (Nipple distraction: noun; the phenomenon where the absence of a brassiere makes it impossible to focus on anything else other than said victim's assets.)

Michelle Obama's Fashion Misstep?

Fashion forward or fashion misstep? Michelle Obama rocks a quirky and colorful look in London. Photo: Jeff Moore, Landov

After donning an outfit strikingly similar to the one worn by Carla Bruni for the D-Day commemoration in France, Michelle Obama headed to London for a three-day tour.

And just when we thought Obama had covered the style spectrum, the First Lady threw us a curve ball with this madly layered ensemble.

She topped off a be-ribboned and multi-layered tunic (worn over black pants) with two of her signature J.Crew cardigans, then accessorized the layered look with a bold polka dot belt and bright ToyWatch.

We commend the sunny color choices (she obviously takes note of fashion collections like Marc Jacobs), and we're all for pattern mixing and layering, but all the pieces together make for a rather kooky ensemble.

It's also possible that Mrs. O is simply working a relaxed holiday wardrobe. It was an unofficial visit, after all.

In that case, maybe she's just a smart woman making do with what she packed.

Perhaps she just shouldn't wear everything she packed all at once.

Sarah Palin's Funky Toenails

Hey, is that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin singing karaoke? (Cue Kelly Pickler's "Red High Heels"...)

Palin showed up to give a speech at the Autism Speaks Walk Now for Autism fundraiser in Purchase, NY on Sunday, and walked away with some unexpected press.

Her, shall we say, loud choice in digit decoration was the focus of numerous media reports. It appears she has a constellation of polka dots layered over red polish on her big toe.

Bar Refaeli's Orange Tan

Filed under: Skin Care, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes

Photo: Jeff Vespa, WireImage

I have always ALWAYS supported Bar Refaeli. She converted me away from my Marisa Miller obsession, and now I consider her the hottest swimsuit model.

It's not like I am one of the millions of girls to have a thing for her man, Leo DiCaprio, either. I just happen to think she's gorgeous in a really natural, extremely lucky kind of way.

So what the heck was this orange tan all about?

Sharon Stone's Mini Dress - Age Appropriate?

Sharon Stone shows serious leg while hanging with Marchesa's Georgina Chapman. Photo by Jeff Vespa, amfAR/WireImage

Sharon Stone has a rockin' bod, that's no secret, but does a killer physique mean a 51-year-old woman should wear a dress that looks like it belongs on Blake Lively?

Admittedly, we are totally jealous of her thighs, and legs in general, and the glitzy getup is less revealing than her infamous scene in "Basic Instinct." Still the question remains -- is this micro mini dress age appropriate?

Stone has never been one to follow the fashion rules. Need we remind you of the Gap tee she paired with a Valentino skirt for the 1996 Oscars? Mr. Blackwell criticized the look, saying it "wasn't cute or funny." Though, it did leave a lasting impression.

What do you think of her hiked-up hemline?

Eva Herzigova - Cannes Sheer Delight?

Eva Herzigova in Atelier Versace at Cannes. Photos by Getty Images

Model Eva Herzigova has never been one to shy away from unique and sometimes risqué fashion, and her choice of this shimmery and very sheer Atelier Versace dress for the "Looking for Eric" premiere at Cannes was no exception.

In theory, we're positively mad about the glistening gown -- it's flattering (not that it's difficult to flatter Eva's figure), festive (note the mermaid-worthy paillettes) and goes perfectly with her Chopard earrings (which is what really matters, right?). She looks every bit the blonde bombshell.

Only problem, when the light hits (a thousand flash bulbs going off doesn't help!), the dress is as see-through as Saran Wrap, leaving little-to-nothing to the imagination.

Should this look be reserved for the runway? Or is Eva's fashion choice bold and daring? You be the judge!

Lily Allen Hits the Pub ... In a Wedding Dress

Lily Allen must have heard that spring is all about the LWD (little white dress), because upon arrival to the Groucho Club in London, she donned a long white frock. Only problem, she looked more like she was headed to a wedding reception -- her own!

The singer wore a full-on bridal gown to an afterparty and even brought along a cropped black blazer (groom's tuxedo jacket?) to complete the look.

Cher Turns Back Time

Then and wow! Cher, in 1992 (left) and 2009 (right). Photos by Peter Still, Redferns | Ethan Miller, Getty Images

Known worldwide for her over-the-top fashion sense, and above all, her joie de vivre, Cher is an icon -- there's no doubt about that. In 1992, she donned a black bodysuit with so little material we'd hesitate to even classify it as an article of clothing.

Now, 17 years later at almost 63, Cher is back and better than ever -- in the same scandalous, leaves-nothing-to-the-imagination glittery getup.

Well, it's not quite the exact same garment. While it certainly looks almost identical, it does cover more of her *ahem* lady bits. Plus, the jacket it definitely shorter and the hair is even bigger -- who knew, it was possible?

But, the, "I'm way more fabulous than anyone else in Hollywood could ever even dream of being," attitude hasn't changed a bit. And rightfully so!

Adrien Brody's Blue Hair Gets Rave Reviews

Filed under: Men, Celebrity Fashion Mistakes, Hair Cut and Style

Adrian Photo by Getty Images.

Last Thursday, Adrien Brody rolled up to a screening of The Brothers Bloom (maybe he thought it was called The Brothers Blue) with an eye-catching new do. Problem was, it consisted of roughly a dozen blue-highlighted chunks poking out of his typically messy and understated hair.

Really, Adrien? Really? All he needed was a glow stick and a pacifier to complete his "I'm a rebellious teenager" look. We're really not quite sure what's going on with this shaggy mess (hopefully those blue streaks are just extensions), and we have absolutely no idea what Adrien is shooting for -- but it definitely got our attention. Not to mention, his experimentation brings up a pretty valid beauty question: is pink, blue, orange, purple, etc. hair dye fair game for anyone over the age of 25?

Maybe Adrien got the blue streaks for an upcoming role in a movie about people who follow jam bands? That would totally explain it. Otherwise, we say leave rainbow colored hair dye to those who don't look like they need it to cover their gray.

The NY Post is claiming that Adrien's new 'do is inspired by none other than "American Idol" finalist Adam Lambert, whose glam rock style is taking the nation by storm. Again, really, Adrien? Really?

Kiefer Sutherland Takes on Proenza Schouler?

Kiefer Sutherland's brand of fashion may be getting a little too aggressive.

The handsome "24" star attended the Metropolitan Art Institute's Costume Gala last night and things apparently got way out of hand when Kiefer went all Zinedine Zidane on Jack McCollough, one half of design duo Proenza Schouler.

New York social news blog Guest of a Guest reports that Sutherland headbutted McCollough during an after-party at SubMercer. Mary Kate Olsen and other fashion heavy-hitters watched as Kiefer broke Jack's nose, the blog reports. A friend of McCollough's tells StyleList, the fashion designer spent the night in the hospital with a broken nose.

Are you wondering the reason behind the big showdown? Kiefer was upset about something that had to do with his former "Freeway" co-star, Brooke Shields, the blog says.

Violence is bad and we are truly sorry to hear about McCollough. But, the bigger issue at hand is that Shields is 42 years old and still smokin' hot enough to be causing this kind of drama! Maybe even worth headbutting someone for -- proof that age is just a number!

Silly Rabbit, Trix Are For Kids! (And Madonna)

Madge has arrived!!! And not surprisingly, she made a grand entrance to The Met's Costume Institute Gala in Louis Vuitton (whose campaign she is currently the face of and will be again next season).

The fashion chameleon (right) wore a ruched taffeta bubble-hem dress with Wicked Witch of the West thigh-high boots.

There were a few nods to her Material Girl past: black fingerless gloves, a diamond cross pendant and "Borderline"-esque rabbit ears. (Don't let the retro antenna-like hairpiece fool you, this star is definitely in high definition!)

Kate Moss - The Turbanator

Mega model and fashion icon, Kate Moss (pictured right with Marc Jacobs), arrived at The Met's Costume Institute Gala channeling a golden Greek goddess. She wore an asymmetrical, backless gold lamé toga (er, dress) with matching turban the designer custom made for the occasion.

But the headwear wasn't the most surprising part of her look! The usually fair-skinned beauty appeared much tanner than usual. (We have to wonder, did MJ take her for a spray down at his favorite fake bakery?) Faux and safe, we're sure. After all, not that long ago Marc Jacobs did run a huge skin cancer awareness campaign with T-shirts to match. You know, the one where all the celebs posed naked.

Katy Perry as Katwoman?

Singer Katy Perry, known for wearing little more than her retro skivvies (on and off stage), has decided to cover up! But does it count when it's hot pink leopard spandex?

We think she looks like a cross between Malibu Barbie and Halle Berry's Catwoman. Maybe she's vying for a turn as the sexy, whip-wielding superheroine. If so, it's much less humiliating than Sean Young's desperate attempt in the early '90s to secure the role -- it backfired, big time. Or it could just be that KP wants to show Barbie who's bubblegum boss. Heads up Ken, there could be a new Gotham girl in town!

Who knew we'd be longing for the return of her pinup girl rompers so soon?!

Christina Aguilera - The Original Circus

Anthony Visschedyk, PacificCoastNews

Britney Spears' Circus tour really got people talking -- the concept is so exciting, so innovative! There's just one little problem with that -- Christina Aguilera did it first. And last night, it looked like she wanted to remind the world of that fact and put the spotlight back on herself using a strategic, yet questionable move -- smearing her face with clown makeup.

Wait, what? That wasn't the intent of the garish red lipstick and bright teal eyeshadow? You could've fooled us!

Bad makeup happens to good people, sadly enough. But, you don't have to become a victim. Christina is here to teach us a very important lesson. A) Look in the mirror before you leave the club to make sure you don't have P. Hilt's lip imprint still on your face. B) Choose one feature to play up -- we repeat, one feature and one feature only.

If you're going for crazy eye makeup, tone down the lips. If you want to wear red lipstick, great! That just means you should keep the rest of the look relatively bare. Otherwise, don't be surprised if 13 of your closest friends cram into a miniature car to come pick you up for your night out.
