You know what next Thursday is -- Turkey Day! And, you know what that means. Even if you normally have a fabulously flat tummy, you're likely to end up with a bit of a belly by the time the bird is taken off the table. And, if you have a belly to start with, well -- you know your best bet is to wear something that gives you room to breathe.Continue reading Flatter Your Figure - Trendy Tops to Flatter Turkey-Stuffed Tummies
In some parts of the country, it's turning pleasantly cool, while in other areas, it's just flat out freezing. And while the cold weather might not bode well for those killer peep toe stilettos (unless you're very, very brave and have an uncanny knack for balancing on icy sidewalks), there is a warm, fuzzy lining -- you get to wear sweaters!
Ladies, just because a size eight better describes your shoe size than your dress size, there's no reason you shouldn't be just as fashionable as those lucky enough to have a super high metabolism. Style exists for women of all shapes and sizes, although, admittedly, it is tougher for those who wear plus sizes.
Who doesn't love a tall, sexy boot in the fall? It's a great way to add a little edge to an otherwise simple outfit, and when added to an already sexy outfit ... well, just watch the heads turn as you walk by! But, finding the right boot can be tough, especially if you have bigger calves.
In the coming weeks and months, most of us will need to start bundling up before heading outdoors. And while that might cause flashbacks to snowpants and earmuffs for some of you, keep in mind that it is possible to stay warm in the freezing weather without looking like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, regardless of what your body looks like beneath your coat.
Plenty of women use Halloween as an excuse to dress a lot sexier than they normally would dare. Why go as a cat when you can go as a Sexy Kitten? Why dress as a mummy when you can go as the Lusty Undead?
If you're top heavy -- we mean truly top heavy, not just a little busty -- you probably already know how important it is to try to make your body look proportional, which can be hard with the heavy fabrics and boxy cuts of some fall fashions. The last thing in the world you want to do is add bulk to your upper half, right? You don't want to look like you're about to tip over!
You can wear the most gorgeous dress, or put together the most flattering jeans and top, but so many people make a mistake when it comes to the last accessory they put on -- their shoes. You might not realize it, but the wrong shoes can take you from looking long and lean to appearing short and stumpy.
Say goodbye to slim pencil dresses and body-skimming skirts–the dominant silhouette on the Fall 2008 runways was high volume.
As our mother often says, getting older stinks in a bunch of ways, but one of the biggest bummers comes in the form of fashionable clothing (or, rather, the lack thereof). When you're 35, 45, or even checking that 60+ box, you don't want to wear the same types of styles as a high schooler, but you probably don't want to dress like your mother or grandmother.
Seriously? It's like a display of shoulder pads for Russian nesting dolls.
First of all, let us just say that if you're going to the gym and working up a sweat, you have a right to look as bad as you want. If you run farther or lift better wearing your old basketball shorts, that's fine -- we are big believers in hitting the gym to work out, not to win a fashion contest.
As much as we all love seeing what the designers send down the runway at Fashion Week, but for many of us, there's one itty, bitty, size zero problem -- women with curves can't always pull off those those styles. In no way, though, does that mean women above a size four don't want to rock the most current fashions. We just want to rock them in a way that works for our bodies.
