We designed our own. Now it's your turn! Photo: ninashoes.com

When it comes to wedding shoes, there are a million issues.

The bride wants her shoes to be as special as the rest of her ensemble. The bridesmaids' shoes need to go with their gowns, but not every woman is comfortable in the same style shoe, presenting a huge challenge.

Oh, and now that shorter dresses are in style, even more challenging!

Nina has a solution -- Design Your Own shoes. You get to choose from three styles: "Palada," "Electra" or "Culver," two or three heel heights (depending on style) and a wide range of colors. You can even select different colors for the heel, upper and bow or toe detail.

Celebs Design Havaianas for Charity

Yesterday, there was Beckham mania for the launch of the Emporio Armani Underwear Fall/Winter 09/10 campaign, but Selfridges London has also reached out to charities for its centennial celebration.

After setting up a Havaianas (Brazil's best export after supermodels) customization pop-up shop, the British retailer has invited celebrities and designers, such as Paul Smith, Alek Wek, Jade Jagger and Lulu Guiness to join in on the DIY fun by designing their own pair of flip flops.

Starting June 15 until midnight on June 26 (London time), you can bid on the fashionable one-of-a-kind footwear via a silent auction on Selfridges' website. All proceeds will go to CLIC Sargent, a charity that supports children with cancer.

Christian Louboutins for Under $200 - Who You Kidding?

Ain't Nothing like the real thing, baby! Photo courtesy of Christian Louboutin

Lately, there's been a proliferation of sites (christianlouboutinus.com, buylouboutins.com, louboutinsale.com) offering the most coveted shoes for under $200.

Your initial reaction is probably to fling your laptop/baby/coffee and grab your credit card faster than Speidi shows up to the opening of an envelope.

But buyer beware! Not only will you get ripped off if you buy these fakes (the pictures may be real, pulled from the Neiman Marcus or Saks site), but the shoes you'll receive will be about as authentic as Lisa Rinna's lips.

Alice Temperley - If the Shoe Doesn't Fit, Design Your Own

If you want cutting edge, go ask Alice! Photo by Nick Harvey/WireImage

It's good to be a designer. If you don't find shoes to your liking, then you can design them yourself.

That's what Alice Temperley had in mind when starting her new shoe line. The London-based designer told Independent UK: "I'm sick of trying to find the perfect shoes, whether heels, boots or flats, we're launching our own range soon!"

Her feminine frocks are already favored by Keira Knightley and Sarah Jessica Parker, but Temperley is one step ahead of the game with a Website redesign and a one month pop-up shop in London's Sanderson Hotel, opening this week. Now that's what we call multitasking!

'Manolo Blahnik Drawings' - Shoes That Are Better Than Sex

Photo: Thames & Hudson

Manolo Blahnik shoes are dreamy in many ways. His footwear is so gorgeous that, if you're a shoe girl like so many of us are, it will haunt you in your sleep.

Sarah Jessica Parker has said she could "run a marathon in a pair of Manolo Blahniks." But sadly, they're so expensive, most of our footwear fetishes are left unfulfilled and we can only fantasize about actually owning a pair.

"Manolo Blahnik Drawings" is a new book featuring the sketches Mr. Blahnik creates early in his shoe designing process. The tome shows over 120 of these, in full color, with captivating and fanciful details like raspberries, laces and stiletto heels that should be impossible to wear, but somehow are crafted into perfection.

The sketches are organized by decade, starting in the Seventies and going up to the current one. So, for now, you can live vicariously through the amazing artwork.

Would you call this a giraffe print? Or just say that the heel is as high as a giraffe's neck is long?

Beyoncé Rocks Fierce Heels in New 'Ego' Video

Beyoncé just released her video for 'Ego' and it bears a striking resemblance to "Single Ladies." Once again, she's flanked by two look-alike backup dancers and the video was shot in black and white for a retro feel. Another similarity -- Ms. Knowles (aka "Sasha Fierce") looks hot!

To perfectly complement a shimmery, Forties-inspired romper, sexy fishnets and Marilyn Monroe-worthy gloves, the singer stays in step with Stuart Weitzman's black satin "Peepers" pump.

The fact that her footwear of choice involves a sculpted, crystal-encrusted heel should come as no surprise; we are talking about Beyoncé, after all.

And, even if your plans don't include going on tour anytime soon, you can still get your hands (gloves optional) on a pair of these peep-toe slingbacks. Visit Zappos for the satin stunner ($575) in a variety of colors.

Going Spring Shopping This Weekend? Read This First!

Filed under: Accessories, Clothing, Shoes, Dresses, Celebrities with Style

Rejoice people! It's finally time for warm weather shopping from coast to coast. Don't leave the house without reviewing our seven essential rules for spring. You don't want to miss out!

7 Spring Fashion Rules

    1. BLAZERS CAN BE BADASS: The traditional toppers are no longer relegated to just country club outings. For spring, they come in all different variations, from Stella McCartney's louche boyfriend blazer to a blue-green cropped version by Alexander Wang.

"Designers created really contemporary blazers for spring," says Barnes. "They are great for going from day into night as well."

Model-turned-designer Erin Wasson reworked the classic jacket for California skate company RVCA, complete with a silk back adorned with lightening bolts and a punk rock zipper.

BLAZER BABES: Uber-models Natalia Vodianova and Gisele Bundchen rock their individual takes on the trend at a New York Fashion Week party in February. Vodianova dressed up her denim with a disco-inspired beaded number and scrunched black gloves, while Bundchen went for a more lax look in a black style with sharp shoulders and an elongated lapel.

    2. ADD SOME POP: Once upon a time, wearing an all hot pink outfit would have been taboo. For spring, it's encouraged, and then some. The look-at-me hues are prevalent in accessories as well as clothing,. "There are lots of hot colors for the season," says Barnes. "And they have carried over into fall, which is great."

    3. JUMPSUITS ARE JAZZY: It's time to find a one-piece that works for you. To avoid looking like a mechanic, think along the lines of Bianca Jagger's Studio 54 style in the '70s. Even if it seems like a bit of an impulse, give it a try. (If you feel like splurging, go for Rachel Roy's luxurious backless number seen here.) Added bonus: These utilitarian rompers, which you can keep casual or spruce up with heels and a chunky necklace for a night on the town, were also big on the fall runways.

    4. DENIM'S NEW LOOK: The skinny jeans seen round the world this season were created by Christophe Decarnin for Balmain. Save yourself the $1,300 (or more) and opt for a summer vacation instead. Companies such as Rock & Republic and American Apparel have created denim-inspired liquid leggings (made to look like really tight jeans). They are easier on the skin -- and the wallet. Alexander Wang's cotton twill shirt (left) is also a modern take on that Gap button-down from yesteryear.

JEAN GENIE: Sarah Jessica Parker takes a stroll through the West Village in a vest by Current/Elliot, the hottest label to come out of Los Angeles as of late. "What I like about this company is that they take vintage pieces and rework them really well," says Barnes.

    Most Wanted/Flynet

    5. T-SHIRTS CAN BE DRESSY: While we don't recommend wearing your favorite torn and tattered Quiet Riot concert tee to the office, there has been headway in terms of casual acceptability. Especially popular at the moment are the airy, lightweight tees made of ultra soft cotton. They lend themselves perfectly to layering. Dress them up with a chic blazer (see Rule 1!) or a cardigan. "You can also layer colors and fabrics," says Barnes. "Pair a white tee with a hot pink one [see Rule 2!]."

Spring's Best Rain Boots

April showers bring May flowers -- and a fresh crop of waterproof boots. Fashionistas will have to wait until June for the faux crocodile pair that is a collaboration between Jimmy Choo and Hunter, and even then there is a waiting list on both sides of the Atlantic. (Perhaps the post-rainy season delay is due to Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon's admission that she was inspired by music festival goers, a la Kate Moss at the Glastonbury Festival, which doesn't take place until the summer.)

If you can't wait until then, don't fret, there are plenty of high style options available now. Our favorite recent find is a pair by Marc by Marc Jacobs, which come in black with a variety of rainbow trim options for only $28.

LEGWORK - Who Says Louboutins Aren't Meant for Walking?

Filed under: Shoes, Interviews, Beauty Tips

I often have stiletto anxiety -- will I be able to walk like a normal person, if I wear the killer shoes that make the outfit?

The answer has always been no, until now.

I recently had the pleasure of taking the LEGWORK workout (as seen in ELLE and Allure) and workshop for sexy high heel walking. Created by women's shoe designers Victor Chu and Cece Chin, the workout was designed to strengthen your core muscles (abs and back), sculpt and tone your legs from hip to toe, and to teach you how the experts strut their stuff in stilettos. It's an hour of training for runway-worthy high heel walking and it's a real self-esteem booster.
