The Best Bras for Summer's Strapless Styles

Special to Stylelist by Tara Trombetta, SHEFINDS.com

Shopping for this summer's most stylish shirts and tops is easy. Finding a bra to wear with them isn't. Take this helpful shopping list with you when you're bra-hunting online or off, and you'll know exactly what to buy for every tee, blouse and dress this summer has to offer.

For Strapless Dresses, Bandeau Tops and Off-the-Shoulder Styles ...

You'll need the highest quality, seamless, strapless bra that literally disappears under clothes. Get the best you can afford since you'll wear these bras time and time again under tight bandeaus and more forgiving strapless numbers. Skip the bandeau style bras unless you're small -- anyone with a B cup or bigger can always benefit from an underwire.

The Hint Of Skin Strapless Bra by Felina ($38) pictured above is an excellent choice for most sizes and situations, including slinky shapes and form-fitting styles. It offers seam-free support via a hidden underwire and boning, plus it features light coverage memory foam cups to give your ladies the perfect shape sans slippage.

Small bust? A touch of inconspicuous padding is key and we found it in the Dream Strapless Push-up Bra by Maidenform ($25.60) that boosts and shapes like a dream.

Well endowed? We suggest this Va Bien Strapless Convertible Bra ($55) available in up to a G cup that comes complete with extra stay-put silicone strips, plus an underwire and boning for increased support.

Getting Mother's Day Gifts Right

Special to Stylelist by VERONICA DUPONT

The secret to finding the perfect gift for the woman who lives to give to you is simple: give your mom what she often neglects to give herself and make sure it's tailored to her tastes. If you still have no clue what to get her, scroll down for four gift ideas that work every time.

The Spa Package

For the mom who never slows down to take care of herself -- or the mom who's a beauty product junkie -- the spa package works every time. Treat her to Georgette Klinger's Nth Degree Spa Package ($388). The ultimate in indulgence, she'll get a full day of services including a facial, massage, mani, pedi and more! On her downtime between services she can also peruse Klinger's collection of cleansers, toners and moisturizers. At nearly $400, the package is a little pricey, so pool the cash together from your siblings or hit up your father/aunts/uncles/mom's friends to contribute. She's worth it!

The Gift That Blings

If blinging pieces are more your mother's style, Swarovski has a number of affordable options including the Cobra Pierced Earrings ($125). Spend $125 and you'll get a free jewelry roll you can present her new gift in. Don't forget to include a print out of the 'Jewelry is a Simply Chic Girl's Best Friend' post by Amsale. The evening and bridalwear designer shares useful tips for wearing and choosing jewelry that reflects your personal style and jives with your wardrobe.

The Gift That Gives Back

Let your mother know that she didn't raise a totally selfish child by getting her a gift that gives back. If your mother's into funky accessories, pick up this Lapis and Silver Necklace ($49) made by Afghani members of the Women for Women International program. The program directly invests in the livelihood of women in trouble spots across the globe by training them to create and sell products.

The Shopping Spree

Gift cards are often thought of as the most impersonal, lazy kind of gift to give, but if your mother's the type of woman that loves the rush of hunting for that pricey designer item that's been marked down to nearly nothing, get her a gift certificate to her favorite store (inside of an "awww!"-inducing card, of course). As an added gift, tag along on her shopping day and patiently follow her from rack to rack, tell her she looks great when she emerges from the dressing room and carry the bags without complaining or getting cranky.

What gifts have made your mom smile/cry for joy in the past?

NBA Stars Share Style Tips for Big, Tall Men on a Budget

Special to Stylelist by JULIETTE DOMINGUEZ

They may have big wallets, but before they had the cash for couture, the men of the NBA had a tough time finding clothes to fit their big and tall frames. With Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy' spinning in the background (courtesy of DJ Beverly Bond), Stylelist slipped backstage at the high-energy GQ & NBA Court-ture '07 runway fashion show to get their style tips for the big and tall man on a budget.

(NBA stars pose in Jared M.'s designs at GQ & NBA Court-ture '07 runway fashion show.)

Menswear designer Jared M. -- who specializes in designing clothes for big, tall men -- calls his client base collectively "The Forgotten Man." Though many of his customers are NBA stars with household names he says, "There's really nothing out there for them."

At the NBA's official store in Manhattan where the GQ & NBA Court-ture '07 runway fashion show was held on March 21st, Knicks' star Jared Jeffries concurred. Before he had the cash to flash, "Trying to find clothes was impossible ... I didn't have anything nice. I felt sorry for my mom, she'd travel for miles to try and find me clothes."

(The Knicks' Jared Jeffries catwalked the runway in a Jared M. suit.)

Philadelphia Eagle Jevon Kearse -- who proudly displayed three-carat diamond ear studs and a bold Burberry waistcoat -- found buying clothes a job in itself. "I'd keep in close contact with the store managers at Macy's and Burdines, so as soon as new stock arrived in my size, I'd make a beeline. But whatever I did, none of the long-sleeved stuff ever fit me right."

The Knicks' David Lee paraded the runway modeling a dark shirt and light tie with a brown pinstripe suit but after the show Lee, sweating under his stage make-up, told Stylelist, "Until last year, I'd shop at Rochester Big & Tall, but only the sweats and jeans fit. Anything else off-the-rack was always off-kilter. I got my first couture suit when I joined the NBA in 2006. I loved that suit -- for once I didn't feel awkward."

(Jevon Kearse, a Defensive End for the Philadelphia Eagles, also modeled in the show.)

For the long-limbed man on a budget, Jared M. suggests a heavy dose of diversification. "Get the basics. You can mix and match when you have one suit, jeans and shirts that cross over from smart to casual." M. also advises investing in a good quality, single-breasted suit with two or three buttons. "Keep it minimalist, in a solid color, or a subdued pattern or pinstripe that doesn't stick out." M. suggests switching up your look with a V-neck sweater or cardigan, teamed with a button-down shirt. "Stay with the solid colors in knitwear, but experiment with pastel shades."

(Walt Frazier posed on the red carpet with former 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy' personality Carson Kressley before closing Jared M.'s show as the last model.)

If you're balking at the thought of pale colors, Hall of Fame basketballer Walt Frazier says a big and tall man shouldn't shy away from standing out. Frazier says he kicked off the NBA off-court dress revolution when he was playing for the Knicks in the 1970s. "A lot of the young players credit me with adding the bling-bling to the league -- the Rolls Royce, the fur coats, the hats," Frazier says stopping to pose in his Jared M. cream jacket, striped pants and cream trilby hat. "The hat is what set me apart."

10 Spring Dress Styles That Will Keep You Styling Into the Summer

Special to Stylelist by NICOLE HUNT

By now you've seen an endless parade of flirty spring dresses in your favorite online stores, blogs and magazines. We certainly have and we've noticed that no matter the brand, color, fabric or price, 10 styles are usually represented. From shift dresses to shirt dresses, make the most of the warm weather ahead with these ideas on how to wear each style your way.

The style: the shirtdress

The perks: A great look for day, the shirtdress is an effortlessly cool and comfortable option for the office or a weekend out and about. Wear one with a belt and create the illusion of a smaller waistline if you have a thicker middle.
What to wear it with: The shirtdress works best with classic ballet slippers in the spring or flip-flops or flat sandals in the summer. The more casual the footwear, the better.

The style: the shift dress

The perks: The shift is timeless, which means you never have to worry about it going out of style. Who can forget Audrey Hepburn's black version in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'? This powder blue update by Burberry works great for day.
What to wear it with: Pretty flats in unexpected textiles or with embellishments are the perfect way to offset this basic dress.

The style: little white dress

The perks: It's a simple way to make a statement in the warm weather. Just think about how stunning the pale hue looks against bronzed, sun-kissed skin on the beach. This white, ruffle dress by BCBG is the perfect frock for a hot night on South Beach or in Los Angeles.
What to wear it with: A flat sandal or strappy heel in a metallic color would work best, but if you want to go for a sexier look, add sizzle with a matte red pump.

The style: bold prints

The perks: When worn the right way, bold prints can either slim a rounder figure, or add curves to a rail-thin physique. This ankle-length sundress by Plenty works on just about every body type and is the perfect summer date dress.
What to wear it with: Flat sandals or flip-flops are the modern choice. Heels with a dress this long would look dated. A denim jacket could dress this down for a more casual look.

The style: strapless

The perks: A strapless dress is a great way to look sexy without crossing the border into risque land. This version by Isaac Mizrahi for Target features clean lines and a simple silhouette that flatters any body type. Wear it to the theater or a night of outdoor dancing.
What to wear it with: Opulent drop earrings are a great way to accentuate the neck and collarbone area.

The style: the tube dress

The perks: This knit Mossimo frock is fun and comfortable in that '80's, 'Charlie's Angels' kind of way. The A-line skirt is also ideal for hourglass or pear-shaped figures. They're perfect for a trip to the beach.
What to wear it with: Flip-flops will compliment the super casual look. Wooden platform sandals with a Cuban heel also work well and give the outfit a vintage feel.

The style: the muumuu

The perks: Before you stop reading, hear us out. The muumuu is not necessarily for grandmothers only. It may appear matronly on the surface, but this dress is really for the adventurous at heart. Picture a low-slung wide belt around the waist paired with strappy heels or sandals. Are you still seeing an image of your grandmother? We didn't think so. What to wear with it: See above. Other shoe options include, embellished flat sandals or flip-flops.

The style: stripes

The perks: Forget about the rule that says stripes aren't figure-flattering. Anyone can wear the pattern, it just depends on the silhouette. This sleeveless jumper with a cinched waist is a great example of how the print can work for any body type.
What to wear it with: Black leggings are the best and obvious choice. As the weather warms up, lose the leggings and go bare-legged with a fun pair of Converse.

The style: polka dots

The perks: This ultra mini Sonia by Sonia Rykiel dress could have come straight from Edie Sedgwick's closet. It's perfect for Sunday brunch or a Saturday night out dancing.
What to wear it with: This would look great with a pair of leggings and heels. If you want to go bare-legged, flat sandals would work best.

The style: the tank dress

The perks: The ultimate day-to-night dress, this Rick Owens number can be dressed down with a blazer or denim jacket for day and sexed up with a pair of stilettos for night.
What to wear it with: See above. We suggest metallic footwear in gold. Strap on a razor thin belt and create an instant hourglass.

Spring Travel Advice From Alicia Keys' Personal Stylist

Pack a "wow" without the stress of "how?"

Special to Stylelist by JULIETTE DOMINGUEZ

As Alicia Keys' top stylist, Wouri Vice is responsible for keeping the singer and budding actress looking effortlessly and consistently stylish whether she's front row at a fashion show or coming off a 12-hour flight from which she'll head straight to a paparazzi-packed event. That's why we tapped him for help on what to pack for that Spring Break escape to Cancun, that cheap fare jaunt to London or that getaway cruise that sets sail any day now. With Wouri's expert guidance -- sans his hourly rate -- pack a "wow" without the stress of "how?"

(Alicia Keys and Wouri Vice checked out Tracy Reese's fall '07 collection together at Manhattan's Bryant Park.)

1. Keep It Light
"You want lightweight, easy-going pieces that won't crease or crumple in your carry-on," Wouri says, suggesting the relaxed fit of a summer-weight sweat suit. "Also hunt down some loose-fitting T-shirts. Stella McCartney's white T-shirts are fabulous -- they're soft and so comfortable -- and so are Target's Proenza Schouler T-shirts."

2. Be Prepared to Shift Gears
"Invest in a shift dress," Wouri advises, as in mere minutes you can flip from a casual day look to a sexy evening style with the right shoes. "Alicia loves the current BCBG Max Azria line of adorable day-to-night shift dresses. They team up great with flats or heels."

Illusion Shift Dress ($69.99)

Penny Loves Kenny flats ($39.99)

3. Kick Things Up a Notch
"Get hold of a pair of fun, interesting sneakers, such as those from NIKEiD, where you can actually create your own style," Wouri recommends. "Alicia is a big fan of Nike Dunks."

4. Don't Leave Home Without, Well ... Home
"When traveling it's all about being minimal yet bringing with you those little luxuries," Wouri points out, noting that Alicia always packs scented travel candles, to add familiar fragrance wherever she's staying. "She also wears her "White & White" six-foot cashmere scarf, that doubles as a blanket/shawl/pashmina. It keeps her warm wherever she goes. And slip in a linen spray; it'll give your hotel sheets a fresh, homey smell."

Travel Tin Candles ($4.99)

5. Adjust Your Skin Care Regimen
If you're planning to bum it at the beach, "Don't get caught without your Coppertone spray," advises Wouri. "They have the perfect no-mess sunscreen. You don't even have to rub it in -- just spray and go!" But even if you're going to be hanging out indoors, air travel can leave skin feeling dehydrated. "I love Dior's face spray. Alicia prefers the Evian face mist," Wouri says. No matter which hydrating spray you go with, Wouri notes, "It's a great pick-me-up and re-hydrates your skin in an instant."

Christian Dior IOD Mineral Aqua Lotion ($20)

Evian Spray Brumisateur Mineral Water, Travel, 1.7 oz ($5.50)

6. Lug the Right Bag
Wouri's a fan of Tumi luggage for longer hauls, but for short getaways, convert one of your bigger handbags into a travel tote. "The Botkier purse I gave Alicia is so big, she uses it as a weekend travel bag," Wouri says which is a smart idea considering you'll be able to skip the throngs baggage claim and start your vacation that much sooner.

What Size Should Models Be?

Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston weighed only 88 pounds when she died from anorexia-related complications. Sexy Undies for Valentine's Day and Every Day

If you want to get sexy for Valentine's Day and all year round, lingerie is a good place to start -- that's why we trolled the Web for five styles you can rock that'll rock your lover's world no matter what size you are.

1. Paul Frank's Star Julius Women's Underwear Set

Comfort is the key to sexiness so don't feel like you have to throw on a garter and a bustier to put yourself and your partner in a sexy mood. Plus, the tank and panty combo looks great on all body types, particularly if you want to hide a little flab roll you don't feel so sexy about.

2. Baby Phat's Chain Mail Strap Bra and Panties

Whether you're flat-chested or full-figured, it doesn't get any sexier than a little gold kitten dangling from your panties! The idea is simple accents -- like wearing jewelry with your underwear -- raise the sexy quotient considerably.

3. Tatiana's Mocca Full Cup Underwire Bra and High Cut Brief

If you're a romance and lace kind of girl, this style is perfect. The high cut brief also does wonders for the petite woman or the woman with more of a "boxy" shape. It simultaneously creates the illusion of length to your legs and defines your waist.

4. Voux Lingerie

Go for full-on fantasy in a bustier with matching garter. Big girls, the bustier will cinch and lift in all the right places!
